Palm's Treo 800w being received, hands-on pics to prove it
Last we knew, a 436-page Treo 800w manual popped up from deep within the confines of Sprint. Fast forward a few days, and a few diehards are already trumpeting the receipt of their precious new Palm. Yep, that handset you see above is indeed the 800w, and if you care to ask some early adopters how things are going, feel free to hit the read link and surf on over to the forums.

I dont get it. Why does the screen show Palm OS if there are Windows Mobile buttons?
I was just about to say the same. PhotoShop?
It is Wm6.1 but that is running "StyleTap", the PalmOS emulator, which is now running at 320x320--works very well and is good for those switching.
Got mine this morning - one sales guy a the store said he'd get fired if he sold it to me... the other guy called his manager - a few minutes later I left with my 800w. So far so good. Switching from a Treo 650 (palm OS).
Yah thats messed up. first thing I thought of when I saw the picture was the same thing.
Besides, I thought that the "w" in 800w stood for Windows. Just as my current 755p has the letter that signifies Palm OS. Also, you see those two smaller buttons on the bottom of the display, those are action buttons that can only be used in Windows Mobile devices as far as I understand... I call BS.

Good lord man, just click the link in the article as there are dozens of pictures of this thing.
For the last time...it's a PalmOS emulator running on WM.
So many geniuses in the world.
