Palm update enables Bluetooth voice dialing on Treo 800w
Screaming names into Jawbones -- while undoubtedly relaxing and a great source of stress relief -- hasn't been particularly effective at accomplishing anything for early 800w owners on Sprint who've discovered that their devices don't support voice dialing via Bluetooth out of the gate. Fortunately, Palm's been crazy on the ball with this one, releasing an update this week all quick-like to get the feature enabled. Don't let that stop you from screaming random names in public, of course.[Via wmpoweruser.com]

Can someone PLEASE take the .cab and re-engineer it so that we can have Voice Command Dialing over Bluetooth with other phones?
that's other windows mobile phones, sorry
Now if Apple would get off their asses and do the same thing for the iPhone...
Dang. I was hoping they'd do something really great by releasing it in a ROM update so the hacker community could get started on custom ROMs. Oh well. Either way, that was unbelievably fast -- I mean this is Palm we're talking about.
*golf-clap*
Patting the back of Palm for what amounts to their gross oversight of not enabling bluetooth voicedialing in the first place sends the wrong message to their wayward leadership. We all know better.
Oh, but it's such a brilliant move! Purposely withhold a feature, wait until the customers realize it and ask for a fix, and then supply them one in record time. Now they look like the hero!
"Now they look like the hero!"
@Gasman: Not for those with eyes that see. ;) By that standard, those on the streets of NYC running their NYC shellgame are 'heros'. I don't think so.
Hey it's positive. I'm just glad to know that there are still people over there working on stuff. Impressive even more considering these WM Palm phones are all allegedly outsourced now.
