So, we figure one of two things has happened here: either the
Samsung Access has been a solid seller for AT&T, leading the carrier to request a near-clone from competitor LG -- or LG saw the Access and felt compelled to provide a clone of its own volition. Either way, the CB630 Invision is getting to the
AT&T Mobile TV fight a little late, because we're actually hearing that the Access is already scheduled for an official sunset (not
Sunset) on August 24, along with the
Sony Ericsson Z750,
Samsung SLM, and the Mobile TV-less version of the
LG Vu, the CU915. We're also hearing that it'll launch on August 13 for $99.99 on contract with a $50 rebate, so getcha popcorn ready, people.
[Thanks, anonymous tipster]
Why sunset the z750, didn't it just get here? WTF AT&T.
that look like the phone in some verizon banner ads
I have the VU and I really like the AT&T Mobile TV feature. In fact, I like it better then Slingbox on any of my other phones. Now only if I could add some 3rd party apps, get more then a 2GB MicroSD card in there and get a better browser I would be set.
why would you sunset the vu it came out not even a month ago FUCK YOU ATT I WAS WAITING FOR THIS PHONE
This looks a lot like one of my fav LG phones of all time (though it never came to the US & was triband only) back in 06. Go LG- don't ever change.

That's a nice concept, but LG tends to ruin nice concepts with their boring UIs and lame featuresets. These phones should have reliable, in-house developed email clients, not the piece-of-crap AT&T Java app. It's not much of a phone for the price, unless you're a slave to tv and a wealthy one at that.
That's only in America. Over in Asia these phones (this one came out as part of the Chocolate lineup two or so years ago) do lots more- it's just that AT&T/Verizon/etc cripple them when they cross the Pacific. I know that e-mail isn't a Java app on the LG phones I've seen in China.
