HTC Dream, or just some reference design, shown off on video
An all-too-brief, all-too-fuzzy video of a device alleging to be none other than HTC's Dream has surfaced on YouTube, showing a white smartphone of healthy size running Android and sliding horizontally to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. From what little we can make out, we've got to say that it's not the sexiest thing we've ever seen -- and the Dream has been so built up in our minds at this point that we're expecting to have our socks knocked off hard by the time it's officially unveiled. The silver lining here might be that the phone in the video bears an uncanny resemblance to a "reference design" made by "a partner" of Google's that was demonstrated by none other than Google's own Andy Rubin back in February of this year. Of course, that reference design could be getting refined and retooled to end up becoming the HTC's inaugural Android effort anyway, but we're hoping and guessing that the real Dream's going to be at least a little more dreamy than this.

I can't see that really being the final product. For one thing, HTC likes to make things in black. I guess they might be trying to break away from the look of their WM line, but I still think the HTC Touch Pro is the sexiest phone yet, if only it had a nice screen like this one.
Yeah this Cannot be the final Design, not by a mile!
Well, it does look just like a white version of the one they demoed a while back. As long as the thing isn't pug fugly, the OS and internal hardware are all I'm really concerned with anyway. Either way it doesn't look too bad and the slide-out is a bonus. I've gotten used to having one over my past 2 smartphones so it would suck to have to give it up for screen-pecking.
Who's breathing? Darth Vader?
Wow, looks incredibly users friendly. On 4-5 taps of the touch screen launches each app. Make scroll bars on my Treo via finger look simple. Step back iPhone.
