Samsung Messager goes after LG Rumor crowd
You don't see terribly many low-cost horizontal slider dumbphones from Samsung, and that's left the market wide open for LG with its Rumor and Scoop -- until now, that is. Meet the Messager, a candybar whose sole reason for being is making your texting life a little easier thanks to a QWERTY keyboard that slides out to the side. The 1xRTT data (yipes!) and 1.3-megapixel sensor aren't going to bake any noodles, but at $199 with no contract whatsoever, there's not a lot of room for bellyaching, especially when you throw in A2DP and a microSD slot. Just a hint, though, Samsung: any phone + pretty colors = $$$. Seriously.

MetroPCS sucks, plain and simple.
Whats the point in having a text-intense phone if they arrive to and are received from the end user on a 2 hour delay?
I have to disagree with you, maybe you don't have MetroPCS in your area, but here in SoCal there a pretty good network. They also have some of the cheapest plans here too. And with their 4G LTE network coming around 2011-2013, I can expect to see some really great phones on their network for ultra-cheap plans :>
we need a gsm one for att!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have no "dumb" keyboard phones!!!
LG F9100
you can find it on ebay for about $130.
Does it give you a luxurious back rub, as the name suggests?
I can't believe this. MetroPCS, the word is *messenger.*
Massage = backrub.
I think Messager is a made up word. An unfortunate one.
Bake noodles? what the hell is this guy on? Cell techie geeks gone insane lol
here in houston we have that phone for Criket Wireless. Horrible service area but you get no contracts and unlimited everything so, I guess it something you sacrifice. But for somereason I still like the LG Rumor/Scoop :/
I've wanted the LG Rumor/Scoop for awhile and this is a great alternative. I think Samsung did a good job.
MetroPCS sucks in the fact that you cannot travel with it worldwide unless you have the travel talk, And even then you still cant travel with it in certain places as you could with a carrier that makes you sign a contract.. Metro also sucks because the phones are f*8king sky high, where as with sprint or t-mobile or some other carrier that makes you sign a contract, their phones you buy for $50 or so, for a really nice phone.. There are some quirks that Metro has that need to be changed, and then they would make a perfect company.. No contracts to sign, but allow customers to bring their phone anywhere in the damn continental United States!
I just bought the Messager yesterday, so I'm still learning about it.. I only got this phone because of the keyboard, and anyone who knows that using a standard numerical key pad is really damn annoying when trying to text people, so the keyboard is my only highlight of the entire phone.. I cant believe I paid $214 for just a phone with a keyboard pad, Go figure LoL..
If you are a determined texter, then definitely get the phone, If not, its not worth a damn arm and both of your legs..
