Palm's Treo 850 is really the Treo Pro?
Would you look at this. A very official looking page -- at a Palm.com domain, no less -- has unveiled the previously rumored Treo 850 as the Treo Pro. We're still digging the new look, though the keyboard does look suspiciously small in these shots. At a cursory glance we've got WiFi, a camera and a 3.5mm stereo jack. A couple more pics after the break.

the problem is the screen, why cannot they add a bigger screen >.
Thats called a 'laptop' when you get the bigger screen.
looks pretty good to me, id get 1 for VZW
Well, with the little H by the data arrows, this appears to be a GSM device. Maybe both. Who knows.
dang that is looking sharp. this is something plam needed a long time ago
OMG, it doesn't say anything about 3G, you can't live without 3G OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG 3G, I just came thinking about 3G
Decent move for Palm after the Success they've had with the Centro.
indeed, Palm is starting to slowly try and save it's hide in the smartphone race. now if thy can put something new on it that isn't WinMo on it....c'mon Palm, you pretty much defined the smartphone.
but a few things to add to put it over the top
-VGA screen (would be nice)
-High Speed data (HSDPA or EV-DO)
-GPS or A-GPS(nice option)
wow its really nice i like it, kinda like the palm centro...here are some specs so far:
320 x 320 display
HSDPA 3.6 mbps
Bluetooth 2.0
A-GPS
2 megapixel camera
256MB of internal storage
32MB of RAM
14mm thick
Windows Mobile 6.1
Gone the way of the blue and in with the black! I like it.Treo's where meant to be seen as a classy phone, this is gonna look cool.
I liked my old Treo which now sits on the bathroom vanity for the occasional gameplay in place of the traditional reading material. These days, however, I need more than a 2 megapexel camera to get me interested. My Nokia has a five witha xenon flash and Garmin GPS. Anything less would be a step backwards. The Treo form factor could easily accomodate more. I could never explain why it had to be so big and do so little. Not including 3G, well there's no excuse for that.
its a nice looking device.
its like a centro with w.m.
its no 800w though
but its a step up.
Im pretty sure this is
destined for ATT
Gotta have that Palm OS. Seriously guys just update the old Palm OS if you have to.
Somebody finally woke up over there in the style department. About time! And finally not fat! Beauty is only skin deep, but hopefully this is a sign of attractive new packaging that future good innards will slide into.
Without the Palm OS, this is pretty much a touchscreen ahead of the Curve.
any dieas on cdma or gsm?
unfortunately only GSM at the moment
