Sprint readying a red HTC Touch Diamond?

We won't even front with you -- we have some serious doubts about this one, but with all those other red handsets that have emerged on Sprint over the years, we suppose that image above has a sliver of credence. We've no details whatever outside of two more shots of the red HTC Touch Diamond (or Victor, to be proper) in the read link, but these could very well be someone's best shot at using Photoshop to gain 15 minutes of internet fame. What say you, dear readers? Real or fake?

This is indeed the sprint version, do an image search on HTC Victor, and its the way that this will be, but instead of a matte green/black back it'll be red. This is real, and the reason it isn't called the "Diamond" is because it doesn't have the diamond back.

Real. I handled a beta unit in KC and the production version will have a soft touch red (burgundy really) back. Also, not sure where Chad got his info, but device is slated to launch in all channels on 9/2.

Just read some news on phone arena that said an Aug 28th release date is in the works. Be nice if this holds true, hopefully Sprint will shock me and actually release something in a timely fashion.

i work for sprint. i can confirm this will be released on 9/2/08 and that the back of it is red. that is the official picture in our system. what kind of looked weird to me was when i looked at it it didnt have the diamond cuts on the back of the phone like the black version and doesnt have a front facing camera =/

actually its says ROFL, which is found in every picture if you look closely...


no front facing camera....I was looking forward to skype on this phone........
