HTC Dream FCC approved, Android clear for launch?

The long rumored HTC Dream handset -- once referred to as "The Googlephone" -- just received FCC approval. The handset is listed as type, "Dream' with a model of "DREA100." The same model also appears with a WiFi Interoperability Certificate touting 802.11b/g WiFi. If indeed this is the long awaited Android phone, then T-Mobile, HTC, and Google are free to announce in September with an October launch as originally planned. FCC label with that DREA100 moniker pictured after the break.
Update: Further investigation reveals mention of a "jogball" like that seen on the handset from the videos. The Dream is said to be in compliance with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR with this round of testing conducted only on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 and WCDMA 1700 bands -- the latter being T-Mobile's preferred 3G frequency.

Freakin' Sweet!
1. Any idea what the screen size is? Some say screen is 3 x 5 others say the phone is 3 x 5.
2. Any idea what the screen resolution is?
3. Micro SDHC? Up to how many GBs?
I keep seeing T-Mobile's name associated with the Dream but I was under the impression that Sprint is also a good candidate to carry Android phones. I wonder how likely it is that Sprint will adopt the Dream?
From my research (on this site and Boygeniusreport) it seems the Dream is not a CDMA phone. This means Sprint and Verizon wont be carrying immediately. I assume there will be CDMA versions in the future. For now its a T-Mobile exclusive for a week.
I am looking forward to seeing how they've culled the latest version of this operating system. Is it for power users? or more casual users?
well first off the problem with Sprint adopting the 'Dream' is that it is GSM, not CDMA. But Sprint is part of the 'Open Handset Alliance' and I've read elsewhere that Sprint should be getting an Android phone in the near future as well, but no word of when or in what form factor. People keep throwing around the word 'exclusivity' with T-Mobile, but that would kind of negate a large part of the reason Google got into the 'business' so I think your chance for Sprint are good... just may take a bit longer, besides then you'll benefit from all the bugs tat show up on T-Mobile.
Anyone know how easy these phones are/will be to unlock?
they will come unlocked as well, of course then you pay full price 250 - 400$
It is interesting to note that they have requested confidentiality until 10th Nov
The FCC reports do not mention of a GPS on this device. Does the FCC test the GPS also? given that the GPS wont be transmitting?
Not quadband?
Seems like he has some difficulty with the touch-screen in the video.
Very neat design though!
This is obviously a very exciting time to be in the mobile industry and a mobile consumer. The question now is if Google can actually live up to the hype, and deliver Android to the consumer.

People wait for the android platform. This is far superior than the iphone 3G. HTC is so confident about this. Just look at them bragging on their official website. That tells us this is indeed gonna be something
HTC also bragged a lot about the HTC touch as the Iphone killer. Have you seen the touch. it was barely close to what the Iphone has pulled off. Other than the home screen there was no good integration and touch support across other apps. i could not use my fingers and had to drop down to a stylus.
I'm sure Sprint will carry the "gPhone." Only problem is getting that sticky, yellow goo all over your cheek when you lift it up to take a call. I read on "really-true-cellphone-specs.com" that the gPhone will be over 9 inches tall! No more lost phone! W00t! :)
Does anyone know when it is suppose to release in Canada?
