When (and if) Verizon closes its deal to
snap up Alltel, the carrier's Little Rock campus will suddenly lose its status as a corporate headquarters. Instead, it'll see duty as a regional outpost of the Big Red behemoth, according to Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam -- and regional outposts don't exactly need the 3,000 employees currently employed there. Though it's not clear exactly how many jobs will be trimmed, rumor has it executives and mid-level managers will be the first to get the boot; the silver lining in the news is that McAdam says Verizon's going to try to find jobs for some of the affected folks elsewhere within the corporate footprint if they're not needed in Little Rock. Atlanta, perhaps?
Another great reason why Verizon should not be buying Alltel.
The SEC and DOJ will take notice of this statement. With the way the economy is the last thing the government wants to approve is a deal that will make them give out more unemployment checks.
If past experience with Verizon is any indicator, Verizon will decimate the AllTell headquarters and leave just a handful of people employed there. That's what they did to our town.
because alltell has overbloated it's employee base and created debt by bad business models, and Veriozn plans to fix that.
yeah, god...Verizon should just keep em all....let em hang out, steady collecting checks every week.....
wait, you have a union job don't you?
You have no idea how lean Alltel is when it comes to workforce. So unless you work at Alltel and know how much "fat" there is within the organization, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Anybody cut from this deal will be hired by Sprint to clean house garunteed because Alltel was doing great they just realized they were to far behind the other companies to succed Sprint here is a golden oppurnity to have a make over.
Alltel has some major security issues. I will NEVER again pay my bill on their website. They will take additional money out of your bank account. I paid my bill through my bank one day (this bill was not due for 9 more days). The next day they took $50.12 out of my account, would not put it back into my account as requested, but issued a credit to my next bill. They don't care what you want or need....it's all about them. I have been a loyal customer since 9-27-99.....but I must say their NOW way of providing customer satisfaction SUCKS!!!!
Alltel has GREAT customer service, I was a rep in customer service for over a year, and we are trained VERY well, and the bad ones you get DO NOT last !! Alltel is a great company to work for, and a great company to have cell phones with, I am one SAD that this is all taking place, and will hate it if i lose my job, but I also know that I am a great person, and a great employee, and i know my job, and great at what i do, and it would be NOTHING for me to start over with a new company and succeed in it as well.
