The screen on my phone would become colorful and then a message would pop on my pc saying that my device wasnt connected. I tried it on 2 pc's. One with vista and one with xp. I made a successfull call right after the phone programmed. only thing i think that could of effected my differently is a coworker was playing with the internet on the phone before it was reprogrammed. You can get the cab at ppcgeeks and xda-dev.  Also, you could try Skyfire since that will play youtube in the browser.  The only issue is that it is beta so sometimes it can be a pain to get a download and it's not perfect yet. The one in the link is the same one that Verizon has available on their website.  I have updated mine and it is running smoother.  The date transfer is  much faster. Speaking of worthless, so was Verizon's update.  I can't stand threaded sms, Verizon still trying to snag every last penny by locking down GPS, and the bluetooth still doesn't work correctly with my car. Once that happened and my device was warm booted, I received all of my text messages.
