AT&T page confirms HTC Touch Pro as "Fuze"
Before a single AT&T-subscribing soul dreams of jumping ship for Sprint just to pick up the Touch Pro in a few weeks, hold up: we can pretty much confirm that it's coming to your neck of the woods, too. We've already seen some totally legit-looking shots of HTC's hottest QWERTY WinMo piece in AT&T trim, but now we have some more damning evidence in the form of a Google cached page detailing the so-called Fuze on the carrier's own site. As expected, we've got tri-band HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, and BlackBerry Connect waiting for us when AT&T finally decides to pull the plug on the Tilt and make this thing happen. Follow the break for AT&T's poetic Fuze verbiage -- and take your time, since there's no indication that we'll have this in stores in the next few days.
[Thanks, Fred]

this phone is nice when will come to ATT it is releasing soon on SPRINT so all prepped up for it. isn't the samsung omnia coming out also i thought it was coming in 3rd quarter no news about that cant decide between this or omnia if they come on att? any news about the att omnia or release date for either of these devices!
wow speed i really can't believe your going to get that phone ha ha that phone is way cool ha ha trixie will love it ha ha ill bet racer x will be completely jealous ha ha he only has an iphone 3g ha ha ha ha
kinda confused...when is q3 for at&t?? thats confusing me so much right now!
@ ashton: Q3 refers to the period between July and September, which is not only for AT&T.
wow.
ii know this one will be expensive
so i guess imma just wait to get it
when my contract expires next year.
lol
this or the omnia.
or if something better appears
which i know there will be
wow. thts seems like a long time from now.
oh well.
no homo.
Linger longer?
I want this for Sprint, but if it's not out by the middle of October, I'm going to T-Mobile for and Android.
Seeing as how I was waiting for this or the X1, and the X1 still hasn't shown up I guess i'll be forking over a large sum of money to be the coolest kid on the block. This phone just screams legit. I peak at the fact its coming out for AT&T put im gurping at the size but who cares im done with my rant/rave
can't wait... email support of blackberry, windows mobile general awesomeness, and a big freakin' screen!
sick.
So...is ATT just going to skip over the HTC touch diamond? The pro is nice but I think its gonna be a bit too thick for me, I'm kind of more interested in the touch diamond.
@Tyler: X1 is expected to hit the market in a month. http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=848 I hope the Fuze hits that soon (want one badly), but it's not likely if they haven't even officially announced it yet.
By the way, does anybody know if the X1's "release" on that date will be unlocked and online-only or possibly with a carrier?
I think it will be carrier tied to ATT. Unfortunately, all the previews of it say the keyboard stinks. :(
::drool::
ME WANT!!
i really woudlnt count on teh xperia being out soon. some rumors said delayed to january and no one has seen one working that doesnt fail or just suck
and yeah the keyboard is supposed to be crap too
plus the resolution on the screen is different then normal vga so some apps will probably have problems
i say go with touch pro. i am very excited my upgrade is available it should be out either end of this month or middle of next and pricing on sprint after rebate i beleive was about 300 so around there
Wait, tri-band HSDPA? I thought the Pro's 3G was only dual-band?
so, it's a race for my 300 or 400 bucks. Treo Pro or the Touch Pro. Verizon won't have either until the second Obama-Biden term, so I'm off to ATT or Sprint.
I'll be looking at camera rez, apps like media player (does it play internet radio? Is it better than Kinoma? Isn't everything better than Kinoma???) and alarm clock, voice recorder (my Treo 700 voice recorder app sounds like crap) and memo.
The PIM section has to be easy to use and sync with my Mac. Most important to me, if all the other stuff is equal?

Because having the world's greatest phone sucks if it's dead.
Anyone know if HTC has improved the GPS acquisition time on their newer devices?
My X7501 takes 3 minutes from a cold start, which makes it kind of painful to use for quick, location-based look-ups, whereas my Blackjack II (w/WM6.1 update) now takes only 15-30 seconds. Form factor-wise, the Touch Pro would be a great compromise between the two devices, but the GPS lock time is the key, for me at least.
T mobile sucks it doesn't have any nice phones........
The New At&t: Coolest phones, Dumbest names
It would be cool if this ATT touch Pro came preloaded with Pocket Express like some of the Sprint HTC phones. I like the clutter-free news and weather features that are far superior to the iphone UI.
As a At&t customer I was going to go the route of getting a Xperia but seeing as how Sony cant get their shit together on their flagship it looks like the touch pro for me. But does it really matter since theyre both HTC?
continuing on frm my first post
i forgot to mention tht i also was
waiting out for the X1
but which ever one comes out first
but i wonder which is going to be more expensive
Xperia or "Fuze?"
Anyone knows if AT&T will have a camera-less version? I'm always hunting those down on ebay...
You'll have to wait for the FCC report for that. If the report comes back showing that AT&T's model number is 9125 then you can bet that they'll have a 9100 as the non-camera one.
Oh and I can't wait to get one.
This is to fastman... Who says the keyboard stinks? I've spent about 6 hrs watching reviews on this phone from many different sources and every one of them have said that the keyboard on this phone is the best they have come across, and that it might take a couple of hours to get used to compared to the Tilt, but supposedly it's better than the tilt's keyboard.
i asked a worker at the AT&T store about this phone about 3 weeks ago and he said they had the rights to it and that it should be out in 6-8 months at the latest!
Don't trust them. They are not actually informed on what is coming to AT&T so that employee probably just either guessed or didn't know what phone you were talking about.
GIVE UP PEOPLE!!THIS PHONE IS NOT COMING OUT FOR ATT NO TIME SOON!!!!!!!!!! SPRINT ALREADY HAS IT!
This means absolutely nothing.
I was just at our local att store and they pulled out a sheet of future releases, the dates and the prices of those releases.
the Fuse was schedule on October 8th the no contract price was $450, the contract price was list as N/A.
So lets hope Oct 8th is correct.

Sprint is a great carrier. I told them I was going to switch to Alltel (oddly enough Alltel coverage where I live in S. MO is great) and Sprint took 25% off my bill every month for my whole contract! Plus they have great unlimited data plans, and the latest phones. Another note on the HTC phones with sprint, they tend to release ROM upgrades before other carriers. Like with the Mogul, to add REV-A and update to WM 6.1. Also the Touch was released without GPS enabled....sprint was the first to officially release an update to WM 6.1 and unlocked the GPS. They try to take care of their customers. If you complain to customer retentions, they bend over backwards to help. My plan....use my insurance to upgrade to Touch Pro from my Mogul after its taken off the shelf. Lots of people are already doing that to update to the Diamond....I'm waiting for the big daddy Touch Pro. Hope this helps some people out there. Also --- Windows Mobile compaired to Blackberry.......WAYYY BETTER. You can create custom roms to do whatever to want...speed the phone up 50% better than factory........its MS, everyone can tweak it! Let me know anyone has questions or comments.
It's official The At&t Fuze (HTC PRO) will be available November 4th!!
AT&T sucks. They have great phones but won't allow any of the features be used with free software. You have to subscribe to their Navigator and have a data plan to be able to use GPS. That's so nonsense, what if you have no reception? You won't have GPS either. Phone companies should not allow that. The iphone comes is supposedly be cheap but it comes with an expensive data plan, what's the point?
not true, I have the tilt and I have the I-navigation software, works fine, dont need data svc
I just bought this phone and am taking it back after work the touch sensitivity is awful, if your looking for a touch screen grab the iphone
