New Nokia N95-1 firmware v30 released, other N95 sets have to wait, again

Ah yes, there's nothing quite as capable of robbing us of an afternoon of work as a firmware update, is there? The joy of discovery, re-installing all your apps, contacts, and such is as painful as it is uniquely fun. Of course, you can skip all this if you're the proud owner of an American 3G N95, because your time hasn't come, yet. Crazyk, a forum user over Nokia Support Discussions mentions that boot time has been reduced in firmware 3.0.015 to 15 or 16 seconds, camera colors seem better, autorotate's a go, a new share online icon has appeared, and Maps 2.0's in there. Of course, make sure you back up your stuff before you fire up Nokia Software Update to begin this journey, just in case you bump into a problem on the way. Feel free to drop us a post and let us know how it goes.

This is seriously starting to piss me off. They make an update for the original N95 every week it seems & the N82 hasn't had anything since early spring, but still has some bugs I'd like to see worked out.
Well, if you already have 11.0.117 then there's nothing new. Besides, I think 11.0.117 came out around the end of January? About the same time as the last N95 update came out (granted, it wasn't for the US users).
Besides, if your phone is locked to the US region and you want those updates, you can easily switch your phone's region code. There're a lot of free apps out there that allow you to do that! ;-)
I changed mine from Australia to some country in Europe... I forget which one! ;-)
nokia stinks
What are you talking about? Do you even know when the last firmware was released for the n95? 5 months ago, i won't call that every week.
I've had a N95 and I now have owned a N95 8GB since nearly a year, and while I love the phone itself I just can't stand the bloated ,buggy, irrational, irritating and downright stupid software package to pc sync.
Npkia PC suite stinks, and Nseries PC suite sucks like a tornado.
I had to install and uninstall all the dozen or so programs that Nokia thinks you want on your PC, at least ten times and now it doesnt work anymore once again.
And that's on my XP running laptop and stationary, on my vista running desktop and on my Nas too.
I cant wait for the month of october when I´ll be able to get a samsung omnia, a SE X1 experia, or htc dream, and finally erase all the dysfunctional GBs of crappy code with which nokia filled my HDs.
Shame coz the phone itself is really great.but the pc software is just too rotten.
A real dealbreaker for what I am concerned.
Is there a changelog or list of improvements anywhere?
Changelog can be found here: http://blog.wolffmyren.com/2008/09/06/nokia-n95-1-firmware-v300018/
I am sooo excited, can't wait until I get it , especially rotate feature, pretty cool !!
I had a dog once and he was a really good German Shepard--I liked him a lot--But the collar the dog came with sucked because it was too big and had metal spikes that would snag on things. I tried to file down the spikes to no avail and finally gave up; I'll never own another German Shepard again. Whats that you say? My nonsensical rant has nothing to do with a firmware update for the n95? Imagine that...
So far the firmware works well (Note that if you have a US n95-1 you have to change your region code to EURO1 to get this) but the rotation is a little slower than RotateMe and my boot time doesn't seem that much faster. Well, little strides are better than no progress, keep it up nokia...
i've read a nokia ad from preview magazine, about Nokia giving away cellphones. The site address written there is not valid (nokiaphones.com) and I cant find any slam books in nokia sites. duh. Is the promo true?
The ability to create a new email account seems to have disappeared with the new firmware upgrade. In Messaging, under Options, there is no option to create a new account!
it's buried in messaging>options>settings>e-mail>mailboxes>options>new mailbox
