Very interesting. I carry two phones so I can keep my iDEN service. A better iDEN phone could push me to ditch my AT&T line. I'm guessing this is pure iDEN and no hybrid CDMA included. No EvDO. Damn. Very close.

Jorge

Comments on Sprint announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for iDEN network

All I know is it's about time. The only Blackberry Nextel now is the 7100i and it's long past replacing. I hope this one fills the spot with vengeance. I know our guys are about ready to do without iDEN at this point.

alister

Comments on Sprint announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for iDEN network

I hope this is a hybrid phone with EvDO. If not, they just wasted a LOT of money for nothing.
Why would you but this "new" phone out if it doesn't have hybrid and the EvDO?? Real dumb asses.

Netranger

Comments on Sprint announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for iDEN network

It is iDEN only sadly. I was hoping it would be more like the newer DC over EVDO phones they came out with recently. For the people who need an iDEN blackberry though it is way better than the 4+ year old 7100i which is still current sadly.

Amhran

Comments on Sprint announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for iDEN network

Well in the Wisconsin Market the only service that works well between Milwaukee and Chicago is NEXTEL, I hope it is IDEN only as I have Multiple customers whom have switched to Verizon, Sprint, Tmobile, and US Cellular, hell AT&T has no service in Wisconsin- and all of these carriers work horrible in Wisconsin, Nextel is #1 for southeastern Wisconsin, with little or no dropped calls with very clear calls and excellent service, If it has any EVDO crap in it I am not gonna be happy because that is worthless on a Business phone, I want a phone, email, and 2 way radio, anything more than that is a kids phone- what business owner wants music or tv on the phone- duh get a laptop- if you talk 5000-9000 minutes a month as I do you stick with what workss, Nextel all the way and yes I have tried them all. Now Motorola Needs to come out with some sleek IDEN handsets and they will be rocking again.

Nextel Guru

Comments on Sprint announces BlackBerry Curve 8350i for iDEN network

Will this phone have the capability to have two lines? I have a work line and a personal line in my current NEXTEL phone, which is big and bulky. But it typically works. I'd like to have the ability to have my work email too, which I now can only get with my separate Blackberry.

No Sprint phones have the ability to have two lines, which is just dumb.

Anyone have any insight if this 8350i will have two lines?
