BlackBerry Pearl 8220 goes live on T-Mobile's site
Don't go grabbing your plastic -- the darned thing isn't for sale quite yet -- but at least T-Mobile's giving us something to ogle on its site now with an official placeholder page for its Pearl 8220. The red shown on the site does a good job illustrating that it's toned down enough to pass as a business device, but for anyone still worried they're going to blind their coworkers, black should be available, too. It's not as deeply satisfying as an "In Stock" sign, but T-Mob's offering a link to preregister for the phone, which'll presumably give you first dibs when it launches in the next few weeks.

If i purchase the curve or pearl now, will T-mobile release the patch
to update the OS?
That color combo makes the phone look really nice.
Anyone notice that when you click to see more photos and hover over a thumbnail it says "Blackberry London TM"? I didn't know of a plan to call this phone the London...
Too bad no 1700 band, i would be willing to give her a try if they had put the new 3G in it
Beautiful. This bad boy supports up to 16 GB's of expandable memory.
Is the red version only red on the inside and the back but black in the front?
I'm not caught up in the whole 3G hype. Sure it's nice for tethering and the occasional time that simultaneous voice and data are essential, but in reality the things we convince ourselves "we have to have," are really just conveniences not necessities.
BlackBerry's are solid email devices and it's nice to see a softer side of RIM that is opening up doors to the consumer segment. If it wasn't for the average consumer, suits wouldn't have the camera, media player, Stereo BT and more that the newer Bold series has.
I give RIM credit for branching out. Palm just seems to stand still.
