AT&T talks about linking iPhone with U-verse, home control
We've already seen that Apple's iPhone is a mighty fine home controller, but it looks as if AT&T bigwigs are just now getting wind of that. At a recent event where the company showcased some of its newly developed technology, it talked up eventually linking the iPhone and its fiber-based U-verse service. More specifically, the iPhone could be used "as a remote control," and iPhone owners could also listen to voicemails on their television or watch recorded shows on their handset. There's no word on when said features could eventually be rolled out, but may we implore AT&T to spend more on U-verse expansion before making it even more awesome for those lucky enough to have it?

I demand U-verse in my area!
Pretty neat thing!
Well I'm gonna probably get U-verse soon. We got a bill for almost 800 dollars yesterday from comcast. tv + internet = expensiveeeeeeee.
My dad works for AT&T and they are always bugging him to get U-verse. Gotta love employee discounts... :D
BUT! On the flip side, AT&T's internet packages suck. 12mb down? :(
U-verse television is not that good. Sluggish performance and buggy. Great features, poor performance. I had it and went back to cable after 2 weeks. It's that bad. It took them 6 months to send me a box to return the equipment. They don't have their act together yet.
As for the internet service, I still have it. It's no better than their regular DSL that I had prior to getting U-verse.
OK, so what's the big deal. I can already control my U-Verse service with my lowly Samsung Sync.
So, how is this done? i have my u-verse network open and want to do this on my iphone?
U-Verse is the best system I have ever had. I have it on my 50" plasma in my bedroom and my 50" in my living room and it works beautifully especially when I can watch any of my recorded programs in any of my rooms.
I can program the service through my iPhone already (it's a FAST web page).. and it's immediate and I combined the service with 18Mbs download and 2 Mbs upload Internet service, destroying what I had with Time Warner Cable!)
Definitely worth getting when it comes to your area.
I had Time Warner Cable previously and DirecTV before that.
