Verizon's BlackBerry Storm page goes live
It was redirected for most the of the day, but Verizon's BlackBerry Storm page just went live, hopefully meaning we'll be see RIM's first touchscreen phone make its debut sometime soon. All you can do at the moment is sign up for an email alert, but we've got you covered with the internal promo video, box art, talking points, and even a ninja-themed hands-on -- yeah, let's get this released, guys.

I still don't understand the concept of a touch screen feeling like a keyboard. That's a ludicrous sales pitch and kind of insulting to my intelligence. If you can't feel the spaces between the keys with your finger, then it doesn't feel like a keyboard. Otherwise, it's really hardly different than the clicking sound you get when you type on an iPhone or the haptic feedback when you type on a Dare. Sure, if you type with one finger, move it around to center it above the desired key and then click the Storm's screen, repeating that process each time you type a letter in a message, it may be different and possibly an improvement above the iPhone, but for most phone typists I can't help but feel like it'll be an annoyance. We'll see in the final product.
Still, thank God the final landscape keyboard doesn't look like the one we saw on the Brew Ninja's device. Also, I'm grateful for a full html browser as well. I'm sure html email will be included too, so yay to everything except the questionable screen/button idea.
Well I have some experience with a similar type of screen, however its with an Alpine radio. When you touch the screen to change the station or other such function you feel a pulse against your finger. Granted it isnt quite the same feeling as you would get from pushing a button but its close.
Engadget, you guys need to get your hands on one of these and let us know what you think, because I'm seriously considering making the jump to Sprint to get the Pro.
the website is down again
How come Verizon said that this is the most responsive touch screen phone when the ninja said it wasn't?
cuz Verizon is bunch of dirty, filthy liars, duh!
because the ninja had a much earlier model.
Because the ninja was using a device without a polished OS. Notice the keyboard on the pro video is different than the one the ninja was using. Plus the ninja is an idiot who jumps to conclusions.
I think that they want us to register so they would decide after that weather a lot of people were interested or not, more registration means more handsets to be sold so they Triple the price, don't they?
Verizon needs to find a new managers who are able to select phones that cusomers need and want to buy and even pay triple the price if the phone worth it..
The idea of the phone without WIFI is bull**** they have to offer an SD card that supports wifi
You dont need WiFi if you have America's Most Wireless Network... Verizon has the best Digital Data EVDO network too...why would you wanna be handcuffed to a coffee shop or airport... duh!
I'm skeptical of the click touchscreen but I guess we'll see.
and it's DOWN.
I got registered before the site went down. Wonder if I'll ever hear anything??

"THE PHONE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE NETWORK IT RUNS ON"
BYE BYE I PHONE!
The site is back up!
TonyB is either a VZW employee or a VZW answerBot. Love those canned answers!
Verizon is definitely the company to have all the best phones on....they spend 5 Billion a year on their network to make it better...
I'll take a junky phone with a great network like Verizon vice an expensive phone with a junky network. Now I am not arguing phone rates, because even I know Verizon could do better, but network is very important so I'll take good and bad with Verizon.
