What I normally do with company swag is re-gift it for X-mas. Oh you got me a gift card? here's a Verizon Pen, you got me a box of candy? have a Verizon lunch bag.... or if your really creative... make a gift basket of swag and give to someone you really hate.
It's amazing how much crap the marketing department or various corporations dish out. All the while thinking that is has ANY effect on a consumer.
When is the last time ANYONE has bought ANYTHING because they had a pen with a company name on it? Or a lanyard?
"Hey! Verizon just gave me a keychain! I've always wanted one of those! I'm going to switch my cell service RIGHT NOW!"
"Wow! A cheap plastic travel mug! Yippee! I might use it twice before I realize it's not worth using it because coffee drips all over my shirt!"
What I'd like to see is the government imposing an additional tax on the makers of this crap and the distributors (like Verizon) to help pay for the extra room in the garbage dump (which is where all of this ends up, sooner rather than later).
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
wtf?
I'd buy a at&t collection.
Well, ya know . . . we can always use more cowbell . . . . .
Well, i am looking for kindling to use for my bonfire of crap...although i still am waiting for Ted Rogers RSVP as a volunteer sacrifice.

Now if only they included a Blackberry Storm, then I'd bid on it! Hehe!

hey man, you need to chill out
apparently you've never heard of brand recognition. It's about getting their name out there and keeping it fresh in your mind, not bribing you...
