Apple prepping a 32GB iPhone update, bringing back at-home activation?
We're not particularly inclined to believe them, but the whispers that Apple is about to bump the top-end iPhone capacity to 32GB are getting harder to ignore -- especially since 8GB inventory is drying up, leading to speculation that's it's going to be dropped as soon as next week. We think the timing's a little odd on the heels of the Let's Rock iPod refresh, but considering the rampant speculation that Apple was forced to bump the nano to 16GB and drop the "limited edition" 4GB model entirely at the last minute in response to the new Zune lineup we suppose it makes competitive sense. AppleInsider also says customers will once again get the option to activate in-home, but we haven't heard anything about that -- we'll see what happens in the next few days.[Thanks, Harry]

Your an idiot.
Maybe when HTC dumps WinMo.

EFFING AUTO CORRECT!!
I really hope they don't as I just got mine on Friday. I guess I still have a couple weeks to see if I need to return the one I have for the larger size
besides, I thought there was an issue with fitting 2 16GB chips in the phone because of the size? Unless they found a single 32 then wouldn't it be PHYSICALLY impossible to do?
That's exactly what they will be doing, is putting this Samsung 32gb module in:

...and don't worry, HTC will have this too, and they will have what the iPhone has never had, A2DP wireless bluetooth stereo, which is just brilliant!
LMAO!! Auto-correct... But HTC is coming out with two Android devices, the obvious one the G1. The other coming to Sprint may very well be the Touch HD, man I can't wait...
Queer is *HOTT***
YOU'RE an idiot.
"activate in-home"
so does that mean one can buy an ipone without a contract in apple shops?
If they weren't so busy trying to dupe their customers and released the 32GB version at launch I would have an iPhone right now.
Now it's too late, they let everyone else catch up and now i'm looking forward to better options
That's just exactly how apple roll. Damn the consumer as we'll release what we want, when we want, and with no warning whatsoever. I've waited this long for the 32gb; but i figure now i might as well just keep holding out for this nano version that's -apparently- on the cards for sometime soon.
The only real clout that you've got against schmucks like apple (apart from not buying one of their products, of course) is to just wait them out. Bigger memory, better software, hell, even better hardware a fair amount of the time. Just got to hold out until they FINALLY pony up the machine you want. If i could have the 64Gb now, well, that would be my phone-buying career over for quite a few years i'd think, but the way these people work, i'll settle for the Pay-as-you-go 32Gb. If it is in fact on the way.
