It's that most exciting time again for AT&T store owners and their customers -- yes, that's right, it's dummy time. Empty husks representing the
Nokia 6650 and
2600 classic are now finding their way into employee hands, along with a rather curious Samsung that we're told might be the a637. Seriously, Sammy's done just about every form factor and gone down just about every design direction, but does this translucent white pill of a candybar not look completely fresh? Looks pretty low-end -- GoPhone territory, if we had to guess -- but if you covered up the logo, we'd guess Pantech, LG... heck, even Huawei before we put our money on Samsung. Stay tuned for versions of these things with actual electrical circuitry in 'em; they can't be far off now.
[Thanks, Kal]
the a637 is actually a 3g phone, so i highly doubt it'll be a gophone
I'm glad i'm not the only one who has NO CLUE what this phone is yet!
hint hint .. just played with the nokia from our store's rep ... cool little device
will support exchange, agps (telenav), fairly large mp camera, backlit keyboard that can change like 4 different colors, is not considered a "smart phone" ergo will run on the $15 media net unlimited data plan, Oh - did i mention HSDPA?
Slick little nokia phone, battery is also the battery they put in their smart phones - aka not the notorious n75 battery, much better talk time. Looking at approx 4+ hours talk multiple day standby (if i remember correctly)
About 5 colors total are speculated to come out along with it, initially 3, then 2 more (might*) follow .. i think he said pink and one other color are not yet confirmed**
I'll post more when i know more
Also -- will support tethering via the PC Suite software out of the box .. not sure happy AT&T will be about that though ..
Looks like some of Samsung's cameras. Not a stretch at all.
too bad that little samsung doesn't have a slide out keyboard....
looks like a TV Remote
