This would be AMAZING if the Bold came to T-Mobile around the same time as AT&T!!! But the sensible/realistic part of me thinks that either this person is from Germany and just came to the DNC, or someone was really cheeky and decided to bring/send his DNC pass to Germany to take a picture with a T-Mobile Germany Bold. Either way, that's just cruel!!
As a T-Mobile USA BlackBerry user I would very much like to think it's true. And I've always argued that the Bold will be given to us, eventually. But I am skeptical of this photo and am going to have to give my vote to the "its from T-Mobile Germany" camp since the branded logo on it is slightly different than the one used in the US. T-Mobile USA only prints their logo with one dot on the outside of the T, while T-Mobile in Europe frequently uses three....
Hate to add fuel to yer respective fires, but a T-Mo store rep told me that they would be getting one of the new Blackberry devices, but did not know any release timeframe or which BB it would be, Bold or Storm/Thunder. I'm still waiting for their 3G to roll out here in New Orleans before I buy anything, including the G1. I guess I'll keep standing by with my beat-up Dash.
wayne0 - that is the bb javelin. curve replacement, better than bold (although it doesnt have 3g).
Debunked:
It's a subtle yet noticeable difference, and Sweet Cheeks spotted it. the T-Mobile USA logo does not have the leading dots ("digits") before the T, a quick google search of some of the known phones can confirm that.
Wayne0- the new T-Mobile Blackberries that will be in stores "soon" are the 8120 colors (blue, white, black) and the Pearl Flip 8220, so it's not a storm/thunder/bold.
It's not a German phone. They keyboards are QWERTZ.
That is clearly QWERTY.
not on phones originating in canada by RIM you dope
The German Bold is QWERTZ even if it comes from Canada. Check out t-mobile.de and look at the images of the Blackbery Bold that is used in Germany, you dope. I hope you can read German, moron.
http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/pp296/LabontePDX/Bold.jpg Notice QWERTZ ???
Um.. My only gripe with this scenario is that T-Mobile Germany Bold's have a QWERTZ keyboard not a QWERTY. So T-Mobile Germany is out.
has anyone else noticed that the t-mobile logo isn't correct? the t-mobile us logo is dot T dot dot dot Mobile, the one in the picture above is dot dot T dot dot Mobile or possible dot dot dot T dot dot dot Mobile... I'm just sayin...
this is NOT USA T-Mobile phone
T-Mobile USA branded phone has ONE dot before T, not two
it's probably UK or DE
yes that is the wrong logo. all phones in tmo europe have more dots before the T. even the Euro G1 has more dots before the T than the USA G1. it has got to be a tmobile bold for UK that someone got a hold of. bold is an at&t exclusive
Wow you guys have really sharp eyes. I usually pride myself on being able to catch things, but I can't believe that after all these years, I've never noticed the dot discrepancies between T-Mobile USA and T-Mobile Europe. I recant what I said before and say that this Bold is probably from the UK. My Curve definitely has one dot before the T, and three after. *sigh* I guess we'll have to make do with either the Pearl Flip or Javelin. Actually I think I like the Javelin as much if not more because it is the same size as the Curve.
i could've swore i submitted this shit before anyonelse.....whoeva this vince guy is don't even know Don.C
You guys ever heard of that nifty new program called "Photoshop". I hear it can work wonders.
