OK, something is off here! The SE USA website specs for the X1a show a 1700 UMTS band. If so, then no issue working on T-mob ~ even though T-mob has some reports of supporting 2100Mhz as well. I didn't see the 1700Mhz band tested by the FCC. Anyone know if 1700Mhz truly will be supported?

Yes, you need the X1a to work on T-mob. A shame they didn't just make one universal device. Link below comparing the specs:
