I gotta admit that video kinda turned me off from it. Things like the music player section just looked so plain.

If you're basing your decision on the 'plain'-ness of the UI and not the functionality of the phone itself, you probably shouldn't get it. This phone is about function, not looking pretty.
the media player doesn't seem to have much improvement from previous versions besides a new skin. maybe more codecs and streaming support ?
