Sprint delaying HTC Touch Pro by a little bit

Bad news, Sprint users. That HTC Touch Pro you've probably been waiting for won't be ready for your soft, delicate hands on Sunday. According to an undisclosed contact at the carrier, the outfit is expected to "slightly delay [the] launch of the Touch Pro by HTC to ensure it has adequate inventory in all channels before making the device commercially available." If you're looking for specifics, we're told that consumers can expect the handset "in select national retailers by the end of the month and then in all Sprint sales channels (including online at www.sprint.com and Sprint stores) by early November." It's not that next month is really that far away, it's just that next month isn't on Sunday. Bugger.

It's not like the X1 is set to release this year anymore, so the competition is off a ways....

This isn't news. Sprint released a memo on the delay almost a month ago. It's been pushed back until Oct 24th (Friday) to allow for delayed shipments from HTC to arrive from China and be distributed to all channels for a symmetrical launch.

Goto your local Sprint-owned store Oct 24th if you want it immediately.

Oct 19th the following phones are confirmed for released and most stores already received their shipments of: Samsung Rant, Samsung Highnote, LG Lotus.

It's only been delayed till 11/02 from what a Sprint Mod/Rep said on the official forums. Late October, early November, a few weeks difference, no big deal. I can't wait to get this phone!!

I think the reason why they delayed the Touch Pro is because if they didn't, the people who already got the Touch Diamond would return their Diamond and get the Touch Pro

well, i wouldnt buy from sprint directly if you dont want a contract extension...go buy on ebay using the 30% off and you get either the $249 price after the discount or possibly even less, depending on who you are buying from.

thats exactly what im going to do when sellers start getting the sprint htc touch pro and put them up on ebay..:)

I just spoke with Sprint Sales earlier this evening (18th October), and the lady told me that the coming-out party for the HTC's Touch Pro was delayed, and she said that it should be by 2nd November. I got the Instinct on the 16th of October, but I need the productivity of a Blackberry-like phone (otherwise, the Instinct is pretty cool phone ;)), but the HTC's Touch Diamond engineers had to be kidding about that digital qwerty keyboard that they've put in that thing...wow! So anyway, I am very happy about the Pro's version coming out soon! Yeah!
