iPhone Dev Team teases with 3G unlock video
Wondering where your iPhone 3G unlock's at? Rest assured, the delightful world of hackery hasn't been standing still in the months since the 3G was released, and to prove it, the iPhone Dev Team has slipped out a little teaser video (only with an iPhone 3G unlock could a 55-second video of terminal commands be called a "teaser video," by the way) showing some talented son of a gun having his or her way with the phone's baseband. An unlock isn't publicly available just yet -- but it looks like they're getting close. Any T-Mobile USA execs wryly smiling right about now? Check the full video after the break.

Is anybody out there that doesn't believe is is Apple itself giving the unlock codes to these guys?
What good is an unlocked 3G iPhone on T-Mobile? Different 3G band boys.
It's not about the 3G speeds. Afterall not that many people actually use the 3g connectivity. It's about taking a device you bought from ATT, leaving them and using the device on a different provider.
It is about 3G speeds. If you bought an iPhone 3G and didn't plan on using the 3G connectivity, then you're an imbecile. I'm sorry, but that's all there is to it.
Big difference when you are a T-Mobile subscriber and want to enjoy the iphone plus jailbroke with tons of free apps.
PLUS 5.95 gets you almost full Internet access on Edge with T-Mobile.
edge sucks, just get the old iphone then. what your gonna pay hundred of dollars more for a black or white glossy plastic back and a better headphone jack. real smart buddy
I thought I might throw this in..
Here in Europe where I live (Austria and Slovakia) the provider will unlock your iPhone for a price.. I have a feeling it is around 100 euro..
