Sprint gives revamped Katana Eclipse X its One Click interface

We had a sneaking suspicion that Sprint couldn't leave well enough alone with its current Katana Eclipse, and sure enough, we're now seeing reports that a mildly reworked Katana Eclipse X is on its way. As predicted, it'll be loosed in Nightlife Black and Hypnotic Pink, and the main difference over the existing iteration will be the One Click application, which enables users to "organize and personalize their homescreens with the most used applications, including Google search and e-mail." Everything else should remain the same, though we haven't heard if price is included in "everything."

Nippero: The Katana Eclipse X doesn't look much like a RAZR - they've both evolved in different directions - but the original Katana was quite similar to the RAZR, appearance-wise...chin and all. Remember, Sprint didn't carry the RAZR until the very end, and it was no secret that they considered the Katana to be "their RAZR." I mean, they made it in tons of colors and named it after a blade, for heaven's sake.

While the original Katana was thin (especially for its time, and for a CDMA phone), none of its successors (to wit: Katana II, Katana LX, Katana DLX, Katana Eclipse, Katana Eclipse X) have been particularly slender. And they all feel quite plasticky, especially compared to the metal-bodied RAZR.

Wrong phone -- Sprint's initial answer to the Moto RAZR was the Samsung A900, or affectionately known as the "Blade." The Sanyo Katana came much after the release of the A900, when thin clamshells became much more standard.

Can those LEDs change color?

Damn, if one side showed battery status (with diff colors and pulsing animation for charging) and the other side showed signal status, that'd be pretty nice.

Just got mine last night and I love it. Upgraded from a 2+ year old basic Sprint cell with no amenities. I am in heaven with this toy.
I have been in Corporate Telecom for 21 years and don't usually fall for gadgets. Tried the Rant and Rumor in store but could not get
used to the goofy qwerty slide outs after years of thumb texting. Definitely recommend.
