Got $299.99 (well, $399.99 that you can afford to get rid of today while you wait for a $100 mail-in rebate)? How about a burning desire to have the absolute latest, greatest QWERTY BlackBerry money can buy? You might want to give your local AT&T branch a quick ringy-dingy then, because some of 'em already have
Bolds. Yep, that's right -- they're just sitting there in a back room with sad faces, hoping that someone will love them enough to come by and take them home. Do you have room in your heart to save a Bold today?
[Thanks, Kal]
First
dumb. are you 5?
I think they're $399 ( + $75 for early adopters) = $474 + taxes. [sarcasm] Yeah...good job AT&T. [/sarcasm]
just got off with two stores and they say they cant sell it till tomorrow...but he told me the price will be 400 with 100 mail in rebate...he said be at the store tomorrow 15 minutes before store opens to get it
75 for early adopters? Where did you get that from?
The $75 is if you are not eligible to upgrade. There are no more "early upgrades anymore" you must pay an additional $75 unless you are fully out of contract!
This is BS.....10 dealers have bolds in stock in my area but won't sell untill tomorrow....I have more important things to do on election day!
Nick your wrong, if your ruffly 20 months into your contract you will be able to receive the phone at the discounted price (which is $150 less than the retail price) which makes it $300 after a 100 mail in rebate. Those who aren't eligible to upgrade are able to purchase the phone at the $550 price point. There is no $75 early upgrade. How ever there is the possibility of an exception upgrade, which is called a 1 yr/ 2 yr. This is a 2 year contract, but you purchase the phone at the 1 year contract price point, which is usually an additional $75 dollars, how ever that is purely manager disaggregation, and don't expect to get that any time soon, as they will be able to sell them to new cust. and cust. that are eligible to upgrade already.
Just called every AT&T store around me and none will sell me one today!
UPDATE: Just had a family member pick one up in CA for me!
Called my ATT store looking for the FUZE. They said they did have the BB Bold, but no FUZE yet. North Charleston, SC
I just picked mine up at a reseller in Plymouth, MN today. It was $200 + $75 because my contract is only 8 months old for a 2-year re-upping. Plus the $100 MIR. So out the door it was $375 + tax, but total cost will be $275.
But what about the Fuze?
...exactly!!!!
(charlotte nc) alot of my local best buys and att stores have them but wont sell them until tommorrow at best buy they are only 349.99 thats my cheapest route bc i have to pay a 100 deposit on each line so thats only 449 instead of 500 :D
im an indirect agent. MCwireless. we have them in stock at 299 with a 100 mir. fridley,MN\
Northtown mall
Glad the phone is finally in...but when is AT&T going to come up with a feasible phone plan for PDAs/Smartphones?! The plans for AT&T are too expensive!
Is it just me, or are blackberries grossly overpriced?
$400? Are you kidding me? And that doesn't even count how much money you will have to spend to get a 8gb micro sd card either!
I could buy 2 iphones for that price, each with 8gb built in. Or a 16gb one and still be $100 cheaper. (not counting the ridiculous fact that they make you mail in a $100 rebate and wait 4-6 weeks, rather than just giving you the rebate at the register.)
I'v eheard that the Storm on Verizon will be in a similar price range too.
Why are RIM's devices so much more expensive than WM or iphones? I guess they want to position themselves to compete with Nokia's S60 phones. But an S60 phone can do WAY more than a blackberry can. If RIM could put the Bold and Storm in the $200 range (on a contract obviously) then I think they would make a much bigger impact. But at this price, there is no way they will sell as many of these as a iphone, G1, or one of the HTC Touch devices. Especially in this economy.
No they are not overpriced, you get what you pay for... 10 years ago Blackberries were $400 for a new model, and still $400 today, so lets be thankful (lol) that inflationary factors have not effected phone pricing yet. (yet)
The reason why iPhone and others are cheaper is because those said companies are working at a low margin in order to gain market share and volume... In fact AT&T might be working at a lose selling the iPhone.
I just came from my AT&T store, he told me they had received their shipment of Bold's, but he couldn't sell me one until tomorrow. What a tease! Oh well, I'll go vote in the morning, and then be at the AT&T store when they open at 9am.
I saw one at Best Buy in Overland Park KS (Kansas City) today.

The rumors about the Nov. 2 launch are true, got mine from Pasadena, CA at the Corp store, no lines, just went in there, asked if they had the bold, said yes, (as one manager said the week before to come back on the second) and bam, out in 20 minutes!
Great phone! 299 (399 with 100 rebate) for upgrade customers, mucho bucks for non upgrades!
Yea, I got it in Pasadena today, too. Got the LAST one from the one on Colorado Blvd. for a KILLER deal. I'm happy! :D Oh yea, and the Blackberry Bold 9000 is F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!! Even the box looks nice! haha
This isn't all BS, as a lot of you are saying. I bought mine today, November 3rd. Here are links to pictures to prove it.

So...initial impressions? Comparison to that 16 gig iPhone in the pic?
I played with this phone last week at Best Buy, I remember thinking how ugly the weird leatherish back cover was...
*In The Rock's voice* Finally the Bold has dropped in AT&T stores!
I am humbled that people are actually interested in a cell phone that isn't the iPhone. Makes me believe that there is hope for the world. :)
