One of the more interesting devices to hit AT&T's lineup in recent memory -- the
PCD-sourced
Quickfire -- is getting ready to hit in the next few days, making good on a promise to deliver the 3G
Sidekick killer in November. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the Quickfire really
is a Sidekick killer, but we'll all have an opportunity to find out come November 10 when it launches in three colors for $99 on contract. If you're feeling crazy enough to bypass the commitment, you can pick one up without signing your life away for $299, which still isn't that bad considering that you're getting a touchscreen, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and HSDPA.
[Thanks, Kal]
That's a new one. Tri-band GSM that actually supports 4 bands, according to the specs anyway. Clearly the person writing their spec sheet shown in the picture has no technical knowledge.
lol
thats the first thing i noticed too!!!
"Tri-band 3g/hsdpa" yet its "dual band umts/hsdpa 850/1900 MHz"
Also "Tri-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz"
rofl what a mess
OWWWW! That red circle just made my eyes bleed.
Ours will be here in the morning. Cant wait they look pretty neat.
this looks like a good phone hmm decisions!!
I know my 12 year old is excited by this phone...it's a teen/tween dream.
for F sake!! why do they release phones no one cares about when so many of us are dying for the fuze . i mean come on!
...which explains why you're trolling threads about phones you (and perhaps no one) cares about, as well as leaving comments in said threads, right?
The real reason is because AT&T hates you, Brian...they're doing it just to upset you, and to speed along your death.
per boygeniusrepot dont worry that lil pretty head of yours coz fuze is set to be release on the 11th :)
Ouch that thing looks nice.. I doubt it will take sidekickers tho, the text msg, instant msg, and basic email combo is LIGHT YEARS ahead of ANY other mobile device... Sure everything else is either slightly or terribly below average, but the messaging on a sidekick is so fast intuitive and easy NO other phone can even be placed in the same category.. and the ergonomics of the device is crazy
Yes, and your comments are completely founded because you've toyed with this phone and every other phone on the market.
The Sidekick is truly in a class of its own. Entirely. Completely. Nothing EVER like it.
oh man it says "product may arrive in stores before November 10th, and can be sold as soon as received." I'm liking the sound of that (=
Android killer???
For the people with a hard on for the Fuze, It's $700, that's why we don't care about it. So stfu.
The Quickfire came in today and is being sold in PA...http://www.freehtc.com/AT%2526T_Quickfire+_Released
i got mine alreadyy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIyNoFLrj88
This is what the Sidekick should have been, in my opinion. $300(without contract) gets you a touchscreen device with 3G. Don't get me wrong; the Sidekick is arguably the best at what it does but I don't think I'm wrong when I say more can be expected of it to justify it's high price tag.
By the way, I'm a former Sidekick user, for what that's worth
