Nokia USA taking names for N79 and N85

Whoa, whoa! Calm down just a second there, buddy, we didn't say they're shipping -- they're not -- but keep your chin up, because they're getting close. To prove it, Nokia USA has started taking pre-orders for North American versions of its lovely N79 and N85 superphones. No estimated shipping date is showing up just yet, but we're assured that they "get it first, so you get it first" -- bold words for a direct retailer that frequently gets beaten by third-party distributors with the hot new models. We'll see.

I chatted with a lady on the Nokia site and she 'thought' these phones would ship in 2-3 weeks. Take that for what you will...

Ow, I live in Israel, not in the US... some stores here got the 1st shipment of the N85s last week, most of them are sold out already.
I've heard a rumor, from a friend who's very close to some people in the industry, that Nokia sees the N85 as a failure - I can hardly think of why, the phone is superb... I think he was teasing me, well, at least I hope he was =)
