MetroPCS expands coverage with Unlimited Nationwide plan
So, you like talkin', do you? What's that? Not a fan of contracts? Looks like MetroPCS may just have something right down your alley with the new Unlimited Nationwide plan. Said plan enables subscribers to chat in an unlimited fashion in over 300 cities in the contiguous United States without any contract whatsoever, and best of all, the expanded network will be included at no additional charge in the carrier's current $45 and $50 service plans. For those on cheaper qualified plans, the luxury can be added for $5 per month. Interested? The go-live date is November 10th.[Via phonescoop]

so does this mean that when i'm in NYC I'll get my text messages just 1 hour after they are sent or still 2..?
lolololol. I am glad however that MetroPCS is starting to become more of national competitor.
Wow. I have the same damn problem. It drives me crazy. I have the Samsung R-400 and it sucks on service!
Now...Just who is this MetroPCS?? I've never heard of them before. So I'm not impressed. Here in good ol' Washington state, we have at&t, VZW, TMo, Sprextel and Qwest...
A CDMA (IS-95/IS-2000) operator who, like Cricket (also a CDMA operator) does a basic "All you can eat" service designed to look like a home phone service plan as much as possible. Everything's contract free and prepaid.
I'd probably like something like that but IS-95/IS-2000 is a show stopper for me. Hopefully they'll upgrade to LTE like everyone else.
We gotta get MetroPCS to Chicagoland then! ;)
Why is this filed under "MVNOs", considering MetroPCS isn't an MVNO?
Until now, they've operated their own network ... that's why their coverage is so limited. I have no idea how they're implementing this new coverage plan (simple roaming agreements?), but they're still not an MVNO. Even if this new plan makes them a partial MVNO, they still have entirely non-virtual infrastructure of their own.
They made a deal with Verizon to share their towers!
WOW that's amazing lol its so funny because i was thinking of going back to Verizon since I'm going off to college next fall but now i can stay with my unlimited plan now all they have to do is IMPROVE ON THEIR PHONES! or at least enable multimedia on their flash phones.
