So the Cleo from Samsung is classy and the Lotus from Sprint is a fat one that requires "belt loosening". Has your view of this form factor changed with time or is this your slant toward GSM phones, or I guess you could really just like champagne and flowers.
If you look carefully, you can see (i hope) that the author of the Lotus article was and still is Chris Ziegler, whilst the author of the Cleo article is Lara June. Now, isn't it somehow obvious that the comments on the phones' look should be different?
