T-Mobile Cameo photo frame launches this month for $99.99
We never thought we'd live to see the day that digital photo frames had cooler phones than our parents. Actually, okay, that doesn't surprise us at all -- and T-Mobile's helping us live out that reality with the Cameo, its Parrot-sourced frame that features integrated GSM hardware and a dedicated phone number that lets loved ones shoot pictures to it from afar via MMS or email. The rumored details have turned out to be spot-on, meaning that you'll be paying $99.99 for the frame plus another $9.99 monthly to keep the line active. An exact launch date has yet to be revealed, it'll be available at some point in mid-November.

I wonder what would happen if one has this thing and then breaks up with a partner...... At least *I* would send rather nasty stuff to that thing :)
drop the monthly subscription rate to a more palatable $5/mo like their standard SMS/MMS 400 bundle and i'll definitely get one for my parents just to "goatse.cx" them once a month.
What in the world is T-Mobile thinking?? It's going to be such crappy quality if it's over MMS!!
T-Mobile, concentrate on building and perfecting your 3G network instead of this uselessness, PLEASE!
Oh great! A photo frame that my loved ones can beam photos to. Yeah, it should be on my Wi-Fi network (high-bandwidth, free) and accept photos via email (free).
Wait, you want me to BUY A PHONE LINE FOR IT??
That's a stupid, stupid, STUPID idea.
If the linked rumors are completely true, then you can connect a USB cable and/or drop shots on a memory card. Still, this isn't a frame for Engadget readers. This is a frame for the grandparents that come in to pay their bill, and when the sales rep pulls up their account, notices a lot of data usage. [S]he mentions it to the customer, and they offer up the fact that their kids and grandkids send them a lot of pictures.
"Did you know we have a digital picture frames that your grandkids can send pictures to... right from their phone?!1"
This is a moneymaker for T-Mobile. Remember, there's still plenty of people out there who buy ringtones of music they already have.
