AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 on eBay, not cheap

So, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 AKA Javelin (with black trackball) has been spied on eBay with a starting bid of $2,500. In the words of our intern Jacob, "What a bargain." C'mon: it's got a black trackball.

Kind of expensive, no? I think I can wait until I can buy this directly from AT&T.
This is probably one of the pre-production units with a sticker that says "Property of Research In Motion. NOT FOR SALE". Bad idea to buy one. Besides the insane price, RIM always disables the PINs of these devices the second the model goes on sale to the public. The ones with disabled PINs get no data services - forget email, PIN messaging, web browsing, etc. Once disabled by RIM the device will do telephone calls and SMS messages only. This happens with every single model RIM releases these days. Some dishonest developer or RIM employee peels off the warning sticker and has his dirtbag cousin or butt-buddy from high school sell it on eBay. Don't get involved!
where can i get a balck trackball for my pearl?!?!?!
Home Depot. Look for Rust-Oleum Flat Black Paint.
Coat your trackball in olive oil (or have a friend with extremely oily hands lube yours up) then rub your hands in the dirt then proceed to use your Blackberry like normal
In case you don't have a sense of humor, I wouldn't advise said method.
yeah i totally have a sense of humor, i have seen a few of the 8830's that have trackballs that look like they were treated in such a fashion...
I have the 8830. That's how i know the secret for the unelusive black trackball.
seriously, when is this thing going to be on sale and will it ever come to T-Mobile?!
Thank you for this very useful information.
