LG Incite for sale on AT&T's site, $199.99 on contract
Goodness, that was quick! We'd expected LG's Incite smartphone to pop up maybe by the end of the week if we were lucky, did all of our homework, and went to bed on time, but AT&T's gone ahead and jumped the gun by throwing up the glossy touchphone for sale already. To recap, most of the rumored specs were spot on: wide QVGA, 3-megapixel cam, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, WiFi, and GPS round out a promising feature set, but you're going to pay to the tune of $299.99 on contract before a $100 mail-in rebate on a Visa gift card. What happened to good, old-fashioned cash?

Way to go AT&T, not only do you not DELAY your handsets like Verizon, you get awesome handsets to begin with, that was quick!
Oh dear God did I laugh at that comment. I work for AT&T and I can't help but laugh at you. Have you heard of the Bold? Yeah... we don't delay handsets at all....
I wish you weren't such a liar!
Wow LG.... after the release of the Eternity, LG didnt hesitate to realease there follow up to the Vu. But whats this? Windows Mobile 6.1? DEALBREAKER! I'll Stick with getting the Samsung Eternity. I might be losing WiFi, but im gaining a more stable OS.
Shut up. No one cares. WinMo is perfectly stable and capable if you aren't a complete n00b. Go back to cuddling your iPhone.
yea seriously. why does everyone have such a problem with WinMo? ive had like 5 LG phones before finally switching to a WinMo Q9c and the LG OS was completely unstable and unreliable. some of that may have to do with it being on Verizon but still, my LG phones would shut on and off when they wanted, forget to ring for scheduled events, and run at molasses speeds. the openness of WinMo is the best part, you can put any program you want on it, many of which are free.
WinMo is a god send and a must have in all future phones for me. why dont you actually use WinMo and then knock it.
Well superkyle, I've had 3 WinMo Smartphones so I know what im talking about (Blackjack, Blackjack 2, and HTC Tilt), every device had serious flaws, the processing speed was dreadful, there were numerous crashes a day, and e-mail wouldnt get pushed to my device, I had to retrieve my messages manually. And why do u care? This is my personal opinion. And well my iPhone is getting replaced very soon. Im tired of not having MMS and video recording capabilities.
And SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread - XBL: SoCoolCurt) - WinMo has its flaws, just like any other phone, some flaws are worse than others. WinMo phones have plenty of features yet crash alot, (atleast with my experiences with WinMo phones) and the iPhone has a great OS but still lacks those basic features like MMS, video recording, and Copy/Paste. And I've actually experienced those problems with Verizon phones, they would shut off and restart, and sometimes the phone would ring out of no where sometimes. Like I said, this is my personal opinion, WinMo is for some people, I would even prefer the Blackberry OS to WinMo.
Where are the full specs on this phone? It's not even on the LG website. Are there any reviews? I have several questions not answered by AT&T's website. Does it have flash/autofocus? 3.5mm headphone jack? What modifications have they made to the WM6.1 OS? Looks pretty nice, how do people feel about this phone vs. the Fuze? Is Fuze worth $100 more?
Calm down! Things like reviews and such take a second to be released. The Incite was just added to ATT's website LAST NIGHT. If you wait a couple of days, all your questions will be answered. BTW, LG's website is VERY rarely up to date with new releases so I suggest you stop using that as a source.
Looks like it does have a 3.5mm headphone jack and the camera has autofocus. No word on flash. I was browsing the AT&T website and found a different spec page in the "business" section:
https://www.wireless.att.com/business/phones/phone_details_main.jsp?skuId=sku4139600021
Interesting specs that aren't on the regular site:
- 3 inch 240 x 400, 262K TFT LCD flat touch-sensitive screen with VGA resolution
- Side jog dial for navigation
- MicroSD Memory Card support -- store songs and other media files up to 32 GB
- Mini USB 2.0 high speed
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- 3 megapixel camera with auto focus
I was hoping that the picture was a fake. Why so much empty space that could be used for the screen.
I sure wish there were some shots of this phone other than this same one that has been floating around the internet. Someone get a hands on with this thing!! Because it looks weird with the giant bezel and I want to make sure that it is not hiding something else.
Looking at the dimensions, it is slightly longer and wider than the Fuze but nearly a quarter inch thinner. However the kicker is the resolution... Fuze has 480 x 640 VGA display while this has the better display (wQVGA) but only at a 240 x 400.
WQVGA means 400x240. It's a way to abbreviate the resolution. The Fuze's VGA (640x480) screen is better.
VGA = 640x480, ex. HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro
QVGA = 320x240, ex. HTC Touch, BlackBerry Curve
WVGA = 800x480, ex. HTC Touch HD, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1
WQVGA = 400x240, ex. LG Incite, Samsung Omnia
HVGA = 480x320, ex. iPhone, BlackBerry Bold
...and so on.
Look at the battery specs...8.7 hrs of talk time, standby time 21days...holyshit tht is crazy for a touchscreen!!
Engadget Mobile, can we get a full review of this phone, please?
