Unfortunately, that's about it for the positives. T-Mobile has really locked this device down, making WiFi and EDGE almost useless: - WiFi can't be used until you insert a SIM with a data plan - WiFI is only useful to transfer pictures to the Kodak service or T-Mobile galley - The web browser looks like crap and requires manually switching between EDGE and WiFi - The email and IM client only supports a handful of preset services - You can't use the email client to send pictures - I'm pretty sure the IM client uses SMS instead of data - You can install Java apps (Gmail, Gmaps, Opera) but you can't access the network with them - You can't change APN/WAP settings to use the G1 or Total Internet data plans - There's no unlocked firmware flashing solution yet
DUN tethering is common place on "dumb" phones. All you need is Bluetooth (or a USB cable + the right modem drivers) for your Mac/PC, a data plan on on the account associated with the SIM used in the phone., and your APN/WAP settings.
Just to confirm, have you used the DUN on the phone yet? Sometimes when they are crippled, they will display in a bluetooth list, but when the dial-up is attempted, it will give an error message. Thanks!

DUN Tethering available? Could you check to make sure? That would be great! I was told earlier that it was going to be disabled.

The reason why I asked was that T-Mobile hath been disabling tethering on all their recent feature phones. See the SE TM506 made after October.
