Unofficial G1 auto-rotation in the works

The G1's got its fair share of accelerometers -- one need only pop open compass mode in Street View to figure that out -- but one thing it doesn't have is screen auto-rotation. That's where the ever-vigilant developer community comes into play, and Google's all's-fair policy toward third-party apps should guarantee that this nifty little hack will be readily available to anyone who wants it. do you really need the landscape mode for when your inside of a call. besides the fact that no one would see it, ud look really funny holding the phone that way in a call. some of that is pointless.

Yep, Neerhaj is right, this can only be done on modified firmware. Anyone with the standard RC30 firmware is out of luck at this time.

So all you Android Fans can thank this great Symbian Freak developer for legitimizing and pimping Android. He's one of the top mobile developers in the world, especially with motion acceleration, and all his work has been legendary.

Good job, Sitti! And the nails look clean, so who cares if your male (he is), female, straight, gay, or whatever. This is about software, and once you learn who you're dissing, you'll be on his jock, probably sitting in his lap painting his nails! We at Symbian Freak have the utmost respect for Sittiphol. He made the N95 a touchscreen, Moskilltoe game, 3D object scanner/mapper, Mirage Money, etc.

Check his YouTube channel, I believe called Nuuneoi, like his great development team, and see why the N95 is so legendary and above the iPhone. If he's playing with Android, it must be a contender. When developers of this ilk make apps for a platform, its serious.
