Nokia tables v31 firmware for aging N95

Nokia's aging N95 has gotten an early holiday gift in the form of a firmware update bringing it up to v31. Aside from being one "vee" higher, mum's the word on what exactly is getting overhauled with this massive 140MB update. So if you're sitting on an N95 and feel inspired to drop us a line with your update observations, we'd welcome the info. Though, remember, all manner of things can go wrong while performing firmware surgery, so please back up your goods before getting to work.
Update: Seems the N85 getting the same update treatment as the N95 with a v11 refresh. Items addressed include key handling for missed keys -- telepathy improvements, maybe? -- short and long presses on the hotkeys, various power handling tweaks, and various issues with video calling.

not really a fan of the n95 but updates are always cooL.
Um, "tabling" something means withdrawing it. I think you need to use a different word.
+1
Table has two meanings. One in US English and another for the rest of the English speaking world.
I'm Canadian and fudge my translations on occasion, so while I admit for US readers the usage is backward, it's definitely not wrong.
@sean- if you have to explain away the use of a word so that people reading the article (majority, I would assume) know what you're talking about- use a different word.
Watch: Nokia -releases- v31 software for aging N95
Was that so hard?
No, tabling something means bringing it forward (ie. The government tabled a bill on same-sex marriage). Shelving something means withdrawing it
No... tabling means delaying or putting something on the back burner. In your example, if the government tabled a bill on same-sex marriage, that means they decided to NOT vote on it. Look it up.
looks like everyone is right... from dictionary.com
on the table, Parliamentary Procedure.
a. U.S. postponed.
b. British. submitted for consideration.
@ Blaxx:
I am affraid you are mistaken and Erwos was correct. "Tabling" does mean to put aside or dismiss. See below an exurpt from Dictionary.com look specifically at 20.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
–verb (used with object)
18. to place (a card, money, etc.) on a table.
19. to enter in or form into a table or list.
20. Parliamentary Procedure.
a. Chiefly U.S. to lay aside (a proposal, resolution, etc.) for future discussion, usually with a view to postponing or shelving the matter indefinitely.
b. British. to present (a proposal, resolution, etc.) for discussion.
Err, it says right there that it means several things, and only means withdraw in US parliamentary usage.
The English speaking world does exist outside of our lovely U.S. borders, you know.
Ugh!! I just updated mine two days ago, now I have to go through all that again. Oh well.
BTW, last update broke my MEdia Net connection profile, and I had to create a new one, totally weird. Hpefully this will be pain free, as in the backup restoring ALL of my data and apps.
I like how the N95 was released four months before the iPhone and yet, it's called "aging."
Yes, and Apple has another iPhone that came out in July. If you're still on an original iPhone I'd call that aging as well.
I'm glad all the N95-1 owners out there get an early christmas present. I'm still waiting for my N95-3 update to V30. What gives?? They get two updates in a matter of two months, and the US version hasn't gotten any love yet??? Wake up Nokia, the US market wants its update with ASR!!
Be glad you don't own an N82. You'd just be glad to hear your phone mentioned in an article, let alone updated (regardless of the fact that it's still - even post N97 - going to be the best camera phone they've released thanks to the Xenon flash).
@ Anthony
You're telling me. How hard is it to port an update to a NAM phone? They came up with the firmware for the Euro phone... sigh.
I wonder if this update will be for the North American N95, the N95-3, as the 30.blah was not.
Pretty good discussion about "tablibg" but... could someone please tell us all what comes from this v31 update??? I'm a N95-3 NAM owner too, no updates yet =( But at least we got a better python compatibility for some programs since V 20.2.011, now u can have ASR with Rotateme or Rock n' Scroll.
Just a little review for v31 plz!! =)
this update has made my phone useless i get no network coverage now supposed to be a bug in the update......BEWARE.if anyone has info on how to fix it please email me id be grateful thanks :)
