HTC Advantage emerges as Xda Flint for O2
Believe it or not, the polarizing HTC Advantage is still kicking around, and now it has sashayed its way over to O2. Based on a relatively informative product page hosted up by the carrier, we're looking at a pretty standard Advantage X7510 with a swank O2 logo (though rechristened the Xda Flint), detachable QWERTY keyboard, 5-inch VGA touchscreen, a 624MHz processor, ATI graphics chip, Windows Mobile 6.1, 16GB of internal storage space, a 3.0-megapixel camera, HSDPA, built-in GPS and quad-band GSM connectivity. Mum's the word on a price or release date, but we'll keep you posted.

does this thing work as a phone, or do you need a headset? that would be kinda akward to hold up to your ear...
It works like a phone, more so like a speaker phone. Works better if you pair it up with a bluetooth headset. The device is great besides it's size.
Heh, I just noticed earlier today it wasn't on HTC's site any longer, so I figured it was discontinued. Then this pops up.
To the commenter above me, you need a headset, or you can use it as a speakerphone. No holding it to the ear option, thankfully, given the size.
I actually received an email from O2 informing me the release of this product. I guess they are hoping someone who would otherwise get an Eee PC choosing one of these in the coming months instead. Not sure either of them is convincing though.
I am really amazed at how that stands up with how thick the screen is compared to the base.
This "device" does totally rock, especially if you pick up a 7501 off fleebay for $500. I do a lot of email for work when I'm on the road and the huge screen is so nice. Speakerphone quality is stellar as well. Buy, go to xda developers to get latest rom, charge bluetooth, be happy.
I wanted this device for the longest time. It was really ahead of its time when released in 2007 and 2008 (7501 and 7510). But the pricing was completely crazy, and the graphics processor was not supported by the HTC drivers, so it had poor video performance.
Does anyone know if the graphics performance has improved? At the right price I would jump at this.
I'm thinking about selling mine. X7500 w/front cam! Great shape going to ask 525$USD shipped.
check the howardforums ppc buy/sell/trade in a couple days.
I've had one for a couple of weeks, Comes with headphones and a leather case, various cables and a cable pouch. I love it and don't bother carrying my laptop most days now.
Battery life is a bit short, but can normally get through the day if I only watch one film, plus a few presentations in meetings and don't download too many attachments,
The double camera is fun and the phone is ok with the headphones but needs a bluetooth set.
