Bell gets in on BlackBerry Storm, one city at a time

Not to be outdone by rival CDMA provider Telus, Bell also saw fit to launch the BlackBerry Storm in Toronto today -- literally, the rest of the Canada will have to wait for tomorrow. The PR only lists $249 on a three-year term with a minimum $45 a month service agreement, though we suspect they'll get their ducks in a row with shorter commitments soon enough. No word on if Bell's stock cupboards are as bare as they are chez Telus but we'll keep our eyes peeled for chanting angry mobs and post back when we can.

Who is going to pay $249 for a phone that doesn't have WIFI. RIM claims it is for business people and yet no WIFI. What a ridiculous claim! It should be named stoneage instead of storm! :)
Funny how everybody is bit**ing about no wifi. How many businessmen sit around in Starbucks hooked up to wifi. I am a businessman and I never use the wifi on my Bold.
I also disagree with you about needing WIFI. I never use the WIFI on my Touch Diamond, in fact i keep it turned off because it just wastes the battery. The EVDO REV-A on Telus is plenty fast enough. Despite just getting the Diamond a couple months ago I will be getting the Storm in a couple of days so that I can pin and use blackberry messenger. WIFI is fairly low on my list of needs in a phone.
SM,
WIFI is necessary to connect to my enterprise network at work so I can access the Internet when I'm inside the building where cell signals may be weak or not available. Also, if you're traveling abroad you can't avoid roaming charges without the help of WIFI.
