Sprint is hailing the Curve 8350i as the "most advanced push-to-talk BlackBerry smartphone ever," and given the options in the past, it's hard to disagree. Thankfully, there's also integrated WiFi / GPS as well as support for Group Connect, international direct connect and Talkgroup; you'll also spot a 2-megapixel camera, multimedia player, speakerphone, video recorder, a microSDHC card slot, Bluetooth 2.0, a stereo headset jack and a removable 1,400mAh battery. It's available now in a rather stocky 4.4- x 2.4- x 0.7-inch frame for as low as $149.99 (after all applicable rebates) on a two-year plan.

definitely not the first ptt blackberry by a looooong shot
Well played, they've had PTT Blackberry before on the Nextel network.
ordered mine at 800 this morning and the status is BACKORDERED WTF ? it just come out this morning how can it already be on backorder
Dealers have had the ability to order these from the warehouse since Friday in backorder status. Which means all of those orders were filled first. I ordered 2 of them on Friday for my customers and got shipping notifications by Saturday morning so they will receive them today.
The author must be new technology reporting, or a teenager, as this is certainly not the first blackberry push-to-talk smartphone "ever". Nextel has had them before, and still does. They are very dated, but they do exist.
ummmm.... BB 7510, BB7520, BB7100.... Also, it back ordered because alot of the Government uses Nextel, so that probably took up all the stock. And really, I would of place my order through a store weeks ago, alot of people have been waiting 3 years ++++ to get a new styled BB but got stuck with that crappy BB7100.

just got the backordered BB8350i in our location earlier. Looks and responds really nice. The software update (v4.6) looks really nice on this phone. Alot of happy customers.

I feel your pain. I ordered mine at 12:26am, yes....26 minutes from launch and mine is backordered. I don't think the pre-order thing is fair. All 3 Nextel stores I went to would not preorder. Giving it til Friday then canceling order, killing my account, and getting a Blackberry Storm.
This is BS..They push back the release date by months at a time and when i do get to order it they are put on Backorder? They new customer demand would be high,, why not prepare.
I like the color scheme. If only that awful Nextel branding were gone and I could get it on AT&T...
Hey there. Purchased mine from sprint over the phone and had it in a day. I've had all kinds of phones and this truly may be the best phone/pda I've had yet. Switched off of the iphone/att as my monthly bill was just under $160 per month. This nextel blackberry is a great/powerful phone. It's a home run and also costs me only $99/month. The only thing better would be the same phone w/ voice on sprint w/ a ptt on nextel. Great job Sprint! These are the phones that will ensure your great future!
