Is AT&T down for you?

We're getting way too many tips on AT&T being down for it to be a coincidence -- how's it going for you? Both EDGE and 3G are pretty spotty for us at the moment in Illinois, but they're working in NYC, which jibes with reports of a Midwest-specific outage, but we're also hearing there are troubles nationwide. We've pinged AT&T for an official statement, but in the meantime let us know if things are working for you wherever you are.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Yup down in the NW suburbs of Chicago. I cant make a damn phone call. This is stupid.

Me as well. I get a few text messages but no calls will go through.
I called ATT support around 330 EST and they said that all of MI and a lot of IL were down... I'm asking for an adjustment on my bill.
Down in North Central Indiana. Can call local landlines...no cell calls.
down in northern Detroit suburb. weird because it worked early this morning, now...nothing!

Yep, totally down for me in Dearborn, MI.
Down in the Milwaukee (Brookfield, Waukesha) area. Interesting to note, the data network shows up on my Blackberry Bold as "3g" instead of "3G", reminicient of the old "edge" vs "EDGE". However, this time it doesn't work at all.

Up and running in Bloomington, IL. Seems to be a little bit slow today though. About an hour ago did not have a data connection displayed on screen, possibly it's been fixed here since then.

i still wonder why so many people stick it out with at&t considering how often they have such widespread outages. i love my iPhone, but not enough to tolerate spending $100/mo or more for the constant billing errors and outages at&t customers face regularly without receiving so much as an apology for such lackluster service.
They're better than Sprint, they got better phone selection, they don't cripple/lock the phones, you can use unlocked phones on the network, I can take any compatible 3G phone and use it in Japan, I've never had a billing issue with them.
For this I'll suck up varying 3G/GSM signal quality.

Everything appears in good shape here in Richmond, VA.
Service was fine here in NYC but went to see the woman in North NJ and couldnt get 3G and the EDGE was low. Once I got back into NYC, all was good.
I can make calls with no problems here in NJ and I have the 2g iphone.
EDGE/GPRS data down in Auburn IN, 3g data works fine. calls work for the most part, some issues here and there.
Forced roaming onto centennial for the time being.
Works fine for me in Dallas

Very spotty in Las Vegas. Screw At&t, I'm switching to Verizon or Sprint.

Calling and data (at least for EDGE) is working fine in Monterey, CA.
Voice is up but data is down and has been all day in Omaha.
I made the switch from the iphone to Blackberry Curve on Sprint this past November and brought my family of 5 with me, and I have 5x the 3G coverage, 10x less dropped calls, and I am saving $1864 a year Sprint over AT&T plans...plus AT&T customer service is worse than Time Warner. So glad i made the switch. Plus the Compass Air Card on sprint is amazing...cant believe I was living in the stone age with AT&T for 4 years!

I live in Columbus, OH and ATT 3G has been driving me nuts. Lots of droped calls. I carry both a iPhone 3G and Treo 750 (which is set to only operate with 3G) and its funny my Treo can always get service yet my iPhone will not pick up on 3G but only on EDGE. Something needs to be done ASAP!
Damn sure seems to happen a lot with that wonderful service provider. Thank God I'm a Verizon customer. :) :P
Well, at&t only says they have the fastest 3G network. They never claim to be the most reliable or have the most expansive 3G data coverage.
The devil is truly in the details.
Today's outage is a big deal for so many users, but the service always appears a bit flaky to me during normal days. Garbled and dropped calls, data sessions that don't complete...
I'm seriously thinking about going back to Verizon once my 2 year prison sentence expires and I'm up for parole.
I had intermittent issues with uverse internet connectivity for a couple hours this morning as well, nslookup worked for sites once in a while and was unable to access a couple of pages, but most things seemed to work. Odd behavior indeed.
North East Florid here, and it's been very spotty for me today... My service is generally stellar.

Dadgummit. I was just about to get an I phone here in Chicago. I guess I will stick with this Verizon BB Storm. This thing is off the meet rack yawl. Make sure you cut your thumb nails though.

Sorry grandpa, it just means fresh, new, innovative. In Chicago, there are many slang terms that refer to meat generally because Chicago is considered a food captial.
Yet, I wonder if ATT is going to respond to all of these issues. I am still going to get an IPOD though. lol

Voice and data both stable in Puerto Rico. Texting, I have no idea though since I rarely send or receive SMS.

Completely down for me (Northbrook IL) and a few others at work, all ATT. iPhone is just showing "No Service"...fantastic!
Data VIA EDGE is down in Bloomington, IN. Cell to cell works and texting works.
Seems to be okay here in Joplin, Missouri. I've been able to get texts all day. I don't know about calls, for sure, but there's no noticible difference regarding my service. I've still got all my bars
My iphone is down in Los Angeles...simply says "No Service". So ready to pay the $200 fee and leave to Sprint or verizon. I'm just over AT&T and their horrible reception. No wonder At&t was rated worst in customer service. Their network is just as bad! My brother in law has ATT in New Jersey and he says he has no service either.
Seems like voice and Edge are working but 3G is down up here in the New England area. Had it last night but no dice right now. Funny how I switched to AT&T 2 days ago for my new iPhone and suddenly AT&T goes bunk. w00t
