LG's magical GD910 wrist phone packs touchscreen, camera and rainbows
It was deliciously inevitable that a watch phone would eventually show up that could actually "pack it all in," and it looks like LG has actually accomplished that feat in its LG-GD910 model. Of note, the phone packs a touchscreen LCD, 3G data, and a built-in camera for videoconferencing and being a general badass. Sure, browsing to your favorite gadget blog might be a tad bit difficult on that 1.43-inch screen, and there's always the question of fashion, but those are minor quibbles -- the real question is where can we get one, and for how much. LG should be showing this off at CES next month (it showed off a predecessor this January), and plans to release it in Japan and Europe, but we've got a couple of cereal box-delivered 2-way wrist radios crossed behind our backs in hopes for a US berth.

UMMMM.THIS ISN'T REALLY INTERESTING
Whoa, someone's got a case of the Mondays...
How is this not interesting? It's a watch phone that actually looks legit, is made by a legit manufacturer, and it's not like watch phones are being released left and right. The touchscreen is definitely a nice addition, considering the ones with minute keypads look utterly ridiculous. While I would never use one on a daily basis, I could see the usefulness of this for traveling or for children, since it's a lot harder for this to be stolen, and it's handsfree.
I'll only get it if I can talk into it like Dick Tracy! Hell yeah!
Bummer. The specs say you can't talk into it like D. Tracy.
From the linked page:
"The device also offers text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities, Bluetooth, MP3 playback and voice dialing with speech recognition."
All in a package that i wouldn't be ashamed to slap on my wrist? Not bad, although i'd like to see more watches that simply link to your cell for info/controls via Bluetooth, like Sony's MBW-150.
LG's Prada II handset has that ability. Also, I do believe that the first 1000 sold include the watch while it's an accessory that you can purchase later on. Cool beans!
The truth is that the Watch Phone or Mobile Wrist Cell already a reality TEDACOS in Spain since 2007, has the most complete range of models to the specific needs of the final user. All have the latest technology bluetooth, touch screen, mp3 music, mp4, microSD memory, vibration, digital camera and video film, radio, ebook text reader, gprs internet conection, sms technology, voice dialing and many more features.
