Nokia's 6260 slide reviewed, reviewer ponders why it exists
If you're looking for the cream of the Series 40 crop, the Nokia 6260 slide's for you. Mobile-review, for one, is definitely not in the market for the cream of the Series 40 crop, but they've still gone ahead and put the 5-megapixel slider through an exhaustive review that covers every angle. The bottom line is that the half VGA screen's pretty good, the keypad's more than usable, the volume's loud, and the picture quality delivered by the Carl Zeiss optics is superb, but the site raises a good point: what's the market for a Series 40 phone that reaches well into S60 territory? Then again, if you're drooling as you read this, you don't really care about the answer to that purely philosophical question, now do you?

I can see the market. Some people seriously hate S60 but love S40, they still want a phone with a nice feature list though.
hi we are selling many type of ipod, lap top and phone
S40 is the best mobile software (IMHO). It's fast, it's stable, it's extremely easy to use - it just works.
Of course, you lose "smartphone" capabilities, like installing and running a bunch of applications in parallel.
S60 is Symbian-based, S40 is not. I agree w @ILoveApple - I dislike Symbian and the 6260 gives the best of Nokia - best hw, best sw.
(I hope that Nokia buying Symbian three weeks ago will change this in 2009.)
it looks thin... like, un-nokia like thin.now, if they can an s60 slider this thin...
Well that's the thing. 5310, 6500 classic, E71(world thinnest qwerty phone with 10mm), 6300 for example are thin... and dump phones(E71 not included). As most of are from USA in this blog they dont hear anything else than about these N and E series phones. And suprise suprise with 5mpx and what not the phone will be thicker than your typical Razr.
Thought i dont know whats up with NA when it comes to under 13mm thich phones. I mean who needs under that anyways?
You guys have totally ignored that the Nokia 6260 slide supports also HSDPA up to 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA up to 2.0 Mbps ! Sweet...(Eric Cartman tone of voice)

Unfortunately, there are not that many operators that supports such high end feature set yet.
This phone has HVGA screen 320x480 so it is much better than crappy half VGA screen. Learn to read Engadget.
What are you talking about? HVGA *is* half VGA.
My God, this had me rolling.
