Refreshingly, iPhone apes HTC with AniWeather app
All kidding aside, buying an iPhone and saying "gee, I wish this worked a little more like my Touch Diamond" really isn't a totally ridiculous thing to say. The topmost layer of TouchFLO 3D's one of the most refined UIs you can find on any mobile platform, and while we don't really see Apple ganking UI elements from it directly, independent devs are more than happy to do as they please. On that note, check out AniWeather -- now available in the App Store -- which looks suspiciously (nay, delightfully) like TouchFLO's weather widget and features totally wild animations that'll make even the most brutal weather conditions entertaining. What's next, a port of WinMo 6.1's 'Getting Started' app? Faceted replacement covers? Apple contracts with One & Co?

chris z and the rest of contributers at engadgetmobile,
listen guys, i love your site for the most part as the info often is good but your writings are getting really 'on mine and friends' nerves'...just write a STRAIT article o.k...stop trying so damn hard to be 'cool' with your lingo...half the time it does not even make sense...go find another outlet like a lounge with a few drinks and tramps to listen to your babble...what geeks...trying to damn hard...just write the story and emphasize the content not so much the color...geez give all of us some break!!! happy new year geekks.

Someone is past their bedtime.
What "cool" lingo is confusing you?? Could it just be that they just spelled all their words correctly?
iPhone home screen = BORING
No wonder they are stealing ideas from HTC
Boring yet functional. 12 apps available immediately, without having to *push* and slide your finger around the bottom of the screen, with a significant delay, then slide your finger up and down a program shortcut menu.
Of course, bring up background running apps, and WinMo wins. Even when using Backgroundr on iPhone, the apps in the background like to commit suicide. Plus, iPhone apps barely have enough room to breath when it comes to memory.
lol, irony
Weather data is for the US only. :-(
Yeah.....found that AFTER I purchased the app!
I am personally excited to get this app on my iphone!! No need to get Touch Diamond...
