Nokia E71 gets biggie-sized update

If you're in Europe and you've got an E71, sit down for a second -- we have something serious we need to share with you: you've got a massive upgrade waiting. Nokia's svelte, sexy QWERTY set has been upgraded to v200.21.118, bringing with it a laundry list of fixes, additions, and improvements, including the addition of Internet Radio and My Nokia apps and a pair of new themes. No word on when we might see an update for North American E71-3 users, but generally, Nokia's been better about tightening up the Europe-to-North America trickle-down delay, so we certainly hope we'll see it within a few weeks.[Via All About Symbian and nokiAAdict.com]
Yawn, Nokia has no newness. I regard the Series60 as I do Palm (pre-WebOS). Actually, it's like Palm mixed with Vista pre-SP1, with User Account Control ON. Ewww... I made myself sick.

No, I'd side with Brian, actually.
While S60 is a very capable OS and has a gigantic application library, it just feels a little 'stale'. It lacks the polish, cohesiveness, and little usability tweaks that make Android and yes, Mobile OS X (and, I'd assume, WebOS), a pleasure to use. Same goes for WM6.
They both could use a kick in the pants.
Hey, Nokia, you know what update you need to do to the E71? Bring it to ATT already!
Well, I guess that's actually ATT's job, but still. I want my damn subsidized E71.
Note that if you haven't updated past v100 yet, by getting this you'll be passing up on the opportunity to take full control of your phone using The Hack. :(
isn't the north american version e71-2?
@ Chris Z - Unfortunately, we E71-2 (N.Am.) users are STILL waiting for the first update, which came out in Europe in November. Hopefully Nokia will skip that, and push out the new one now.
@ Rami - Yes, you're right. E71-3, I believe, is Brazil.
I'm still waiting for the latest E61i update... I guess that's never coming to mine...
The update for the German version still says v110. No v200. :-(
I bought E71 like three days back. As soon as i plugged in the phone to my PC and started the PC suite application, it prompted me to upgrade to version 2. So i did. All looks good and honestly i have no idea what version 1.00 actually missed. Anyways, the phone is really a thriller!
