If we've learned one thing over the years from our incredible powers of observation, it's that if you're using a BlackBerry, odds are you're an "x-treme" individual. You know, the kind of person who goes five over on the interstate, springs for the extra spicy bucket of wings, or stays up past 9PM on Saturdays. In fact, they're often so wild and crazy that they replace their safe, sensible, carrier-approved firmwares with leaked copies of newer versions. For those of you who fall into that category and own Storms, you might want to check out this new one, 4.7.0.86, that's just a touch newer than the
85 build leaked for the 9500 not long ago. No word on what exactly changed, but it's got to be awesome. Go on, do it, you daredevil, you.
Your "incredible power of observation" sucks big time.
Can we have them pushed to our Blackberriess already! I seems like it's been a month since the last one and that wasn't good enough.
Engagdet is usually pretty good when it comes to techie stuff, but maybe you'd notice the last leak wa for the 9500 and this one is for the 9530. You'd think people reviewing a curve released on T-Mobile (because it's so different that the other forms of the Curve) would understand the difference in models of phone released for different carriers.
You would think.
Where Blackberry models are concerned, it matters not what carrier is involved. When an OS firmware update is available for a specific model Blackberry, it can be applied to all carrier versions. Just delete the vendor_xml file. Not rocket-surgery. ;)
also just so you are informed the last leak was for the 9530. That is why there was no need to delete the vendor.xml. As far as reading up on the updates you can check www.crackberry.com That site will show you.
Did you not see "9500" right in the post? If you're going to call us out, please -- I beg of you -- please just make sure you thoroughly read and comprehend the post first.
Actually last week was for the 9500 and the week before that was the 9530. I have seen on a few sites that this info was released after 1am so not to much of a delay.
