Which BlackBerry would you recommend?
Hey, Mobile reader -- have we got your attention? Good. Head on over to this week's Ask Engadget inquiry on Engadget Classic and bestow upon the world some of your awesome knowledge. The question itself is pretty simple, but we'll implore you to hop over and read the whole thing yourself before blurting anything out.

I would recommend the Bold. Hopefully on Sprint soon.
Then the 8900 Curve. The Storm is garbage.
Hmmm. Trying to sway anyone's opinion by putting up that big Bold by at&t? ;-)
htc diamond
that's not a blackberry :(
I've had the Bold for two weeks now, I think its the best phone period. My last two phones were the HTC Tilt and 3g Iphone.
uhhh E71 even E62 if you're short on $
The Bold. The 8900 is going to be a nice form factor, but can't beat 3G and the keyboard of the Bold.......and let's not get started on what an epic fail the storm is.......
bold no doubt. the storm is slow-typing , os
BOLD.
8900 Javelin without a doubt.
Bold is nice, but its seriously chunky and they go wrong far more often than I'd be comfortable with.
Storm is just a huge disapointment, poor man's iphone if ever there was one.
The javelin is just right, nice form factor, great keyboard, sensible resolution screen and no 3g so you get reasonable battery life out of it.
Bold 9000 hands down
8900 no 3g
9500/9530 no physical keyboard
I would say the storm if it were in Tmobile.
8900 - No 3G is no big deal for email and software seems rock solid. Lovely form factor too.
Bold - Software is shocking and seems to NEED a 3G SIM here in the UK otherwise always dropping signal (at least on O2)
Storm with Updated OS (.86)
here's the solution... now if only a release date and confirmation
that it's coming could be obtained...
Curve 9220 aka Magnum...
fitting name since it has it all... 480x360 screen, curve form
factor, wi-fi, GPS, quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band UMTS/3G, 3.2MP camera....
You guys are stupid and just going off of the blogs. The storm is the first IPhone competitor.... period. It has a good handfull of one ups over the Iphone and is great to type on if you give it more time then just playing with it in the store. I've had mine for 2 weeks in Canada and love it... and my last device WAS an Iphone..
Iphone for fun... Storm for business... nuff said
I'm a Curve man, myself. I've toyed with a Bold in stores and if I were an AT&T customer, I'd surely go for that. But being on VZW, can't get much better than the tried and true Curve. Best. Phone. Ever
I'll second that curve (8830) vote. It was free at Best(sometime)Buy and I'm running a 4.5 OS, a Bold Theme soon to be updated to the Droid Theme. 3G, Sprint TV, 8Gb Micro SD, what more do you need?
BOLD
I had the Bold. 3G was cool but I found it very unreliable (constantly bouncing to EDGE) and calls would drop. The battery would also die really fast. All that with the chunky bulky form factor sent me running for the 8900.
My RIM rep gave me an 8900 to showcase to management in an effort to steer us all into upgrading. I have to say that this is THE BEST BlackBerry I've ever used.
Not only does it have a full qwerty, it looks as elegant as it feels. We use the UMA service inside our huge building since we have WiFi all over the place and it works flawless. Calls are crystal clear and hand off to T-Mobile's network just fine.
The screen is gorgeous and the processor really kicks butt. I was leaning towards the Storm which I thought looked cool but after using both the 8900 is really a much more stable workhorse that I'd feel more comfortable using long haul.
Not all corporations insist on the 88xx series or the Bold. Many of them like our global enterprise org use the Curve series and have had the best luck with them.
I'd highly recommend the 8900 to those who are not going to have heart failure over the lack of 3G. Until at&t and T-Mobile actually have 3G networks in place the size of Verizon's, our usability experiences will continue to vary widely and show lackluster results.
BOLD
iPhone :)
The Bold has a great processor. I can easily run Opera browser, the Bolt browser, Viigo, a couple of games, docs to go, yahoo go (I know...), yahoo IM, AIM, MSN, google talk, google sync, the gmail app, and google mobile admin all the same time and experience absolutely NO lag at all. On my 8320, I was sluggish with just one app. I'm sure the 8900 is better but I just can't justify a couple of hundred dollars in the year 2009 for a smartphone (THE smartphone to which all others are measured) without having 3G. TMO doesn't have much 3g network availability, but Ma Bell (AT&T) does and it works great. The simultaneous voice and data on a wide area scale, not just wi-fi. is extremely valuable, and the Bold is the first and only current BlackBerry that can do this regardless of wi-fi connectivity. I can open up email attachments, send IMs, and forward emails while on a call and I do NOT have to be trapped at a hot spot to do this.
Yes, the Bold is bigger than the Curve. Took me a while to get it because of the size, but within 24 hours or so, you get used to it. Yes, the battery is not as good as it should be and it 'does' take a while to charge. This IS a big let down I must admit. But, the device is serious, stable, and highly functional. I have had exactly one odd issue where it actually recovered itself, but I rebooted anyway. It runs for weeks at a time w/o a reboot.
It's the best I've used thus far...and I've had the 857 (old pager style), 6210, 6230, 6550, 7210, 7230, 7520, 7280, 7290, 7780, 7730, 7750, 7250, 8800, 8320, and now this 9000.
That all being said, when RIM finally gets the urge to put 3G in the 8900, I'll probably go to that device. But unfortunately, that's probably not going to happen until 2010, so as of right now...you just can't go wrong with the Bold.
BOLD is the best handset.
BOLD got a lot of advantage than disadvantage..
I will recommend the Blackberry BOLD to buy than Storm, Javelin, Thunder...
