We've been waiting patiently since
Tegra's announcement half a year ago for some seriously awesome Tegra-powered hardware (well,
any hardware) to get unveiled, but so far, you could hear a pin drop -- we've gotten nothing. That should hopefully change in a big way in 2009, and at least one analyst is predicting that
HTC will play a role in getting that mobile NVIDIA silicon into pockets around the world. There's no question that HTC's
supposed leaked lineup contains devices that would fit well into Tegra's high-function, multimedia-heavy aspirations, but on the flipside, we've also got rumors that the company
moving toward Ericsson chipsets. Tegra's definitely flashier than anything in Ericsson's stable, and HTC's big enough to pursue multiple chipset strategies at the same time -- they have with software platforms, after all -- so let's hope this high drama all resolves itself by
MWC next month, eh?

this pretty much kills every other phone out there. all they gotta do is put this is in the touch pro HD and thats a wrap for everyone else
It works with Ericsson because Tegra is CPU+GPU ONLY whereas Ericsson is mostly the radio chip.
The disadvantage compared to using Qualcomm is it wouldn't be a single-chip solution + GPS anymore. The advantage is much much faster system performance, and lower power-draw that doesn't violate patents, and hopefully meaning available and supported DRIVERS.
Are you saying you can't expect GPS on phones with this chip? Not sure what you mean.
As I said, Tegra is CPU+GPU ONLY, so you are correct.
No GPS capability so it will have to be a separate chip added on. The good thing is this allows the use of the most advanced and battery saving one out there, the SiRFIII.
