Nextel's BlackBerry Curve 8350i gets reviewed
iDEN devices aren't typically the slimmest or the sexiest phones you can buy, but all things considered, the BlackBerry 8350i does a decent job of sucking in its gut and looking presentable. It's chubbier than its GSM and CDMA cousins -- and it trades the 3.5mm audio jack for a less-useful 2.5mm one -- but in exchange, phoneArena observes that you get the best keyboard and trackball ever found on a Curve. What's more, the load of BlackBerry OS 4.6 found here is said to be smooth as silk and crash-free -- a far cry from the experiences of some Bold and Storm owners dealing with builds of similar vintages. Ultimately, the review wraps up with a conclusion we'd expect: it's great for an iDEN phone and Nextel folks are guaranteed to be stoked, but should anyone without an incessant need for push-to-talk fly into a jealous rage? Probably not.

what I wouldn't give for an all black version of this phone on VZW. Even w/ the yellow highlights, that's one sexy phone. Either way, It's hard to go wrong w/ the curve, and it's nice to see Nextel isn't being completely ignored, even if it did take them close to 3 years to get this.
i wonder if this is one of those new phones Boost will launch w/ their new unlimited everything plan for $50...a bb w/ unlimited evrything for $50...sweet!!
Sure, the Nextel 8350 gets the 4.6 OS, while the Curve 8330 on the Sprint side is still stuck on the 4.3 OS.
Very disappointing.
Just got this phone from work... Previously had the 7100i and I'll take this phone any day over that behemoth! Love the way it brings up a Analog Clock while in USB mode.
Why no EVDO!?!? Wifi is great and all. BUT WHY!!!!!????
This is an iDen BB not a CDMA so there is no EVDO. If you want EVDO you wil have to wait for the CDMA 8900 to launch.
Why not make it hybrid? That would make more sense.
as someone who needs direct connect and only has iden reception (so a hybrid wouldn't work), this is a very welcome phone.
For business applications it's good to see nextel finally waking up.
WHY does Nextel still exist????
