T-Mobile's Samsung Memoir does a peep show?
Given the healthy body of evidence that T-Mobile USA's picking itself up a little slice of 8 megapixel heaven courtesy of Samsung, we have no particularly compelling reason to doubt that this teaser shot -- posted on TmoNews' forums -- is legit. The portion of the phone that we see here more or less matches the spy shots posted last year, the UI matches the TouchWiz-driven setup we'd expect for a touchscreen Sammy in this range, and the grotesquely thick body betrays the mess of optics stuffed out back. Yeah, it might give you a little bit more pocket bulge than you were hoping for, but if you're desperately seeking that rare intersection of insane cameraphone specs and T-Mobile 3G, this is probably the ticket in 2009. Only question is, how long into 2009 do we have to wait?

The phone's thickness doesn't bother me.... the dead space around the screen is what I can't stand...
... and of course, the OS.
Samsung's touch wiz thingie performed the miracle of making win mobile 6.1 fun to use on a touch interface, and don't forget that win mobile 6.5 is just behind the corner (some corner, that is...)
why not simply put in a very good 3 megapixel camera and reduce the thickness. What customer actually plans on printing poster size photos.
Thats why you pick up the Behold(5MP) or the Eternity(3MP).
The OS does suck though
Is the Samsung OS really Terrible? I've never used it. What things about it make it bad, Just curious till I try one out for myself.
I don't think it's so bad. Beggars can't be choosers...
The general complaint about Samsung phones is that the hardware is rushed to market well before the bugs are fixed in the OS. They usually have a patch within the first 6 months of release, but by then, most of the phones have been returned by irritated consumers. You can argue that most OS's come to market with bugs, but Samsung is rather notorious for the problem and it's generally more extensive.
The general concensus is: buy their monitors, stay away from everything else they produce.
It doesn't even qualify as "an OS"... it blows. Not in smartphone terms, but in PHONE terms.
If anyone likes it then it's because it has really LARGE font.
YEah I meant UI not OS. Thanks Guys for the Input, I appreciate it!!! - D
Is it just me or does the picture make the phone look like the LG Viewty? Especially based on the thickness.
I find the sensitivity of the screen and the touch to be horrible on the 5MP model tmobile has. I hope this isnt an indication that all these smarter phones are from samsung/LG are going to be this way.
