Motorola dishes the official MOTOPRIZM line in South Korea

We already knew Motorola's Krave ZN4 lookalike was headed to South Korea, but now Moto's done its official duties by making things extra official. Set to debut as the MOTOPRIZM, this vividly colored handset will sport the same fancy clear lid as the ZN4 along with a DMB TV tuner. For whatever reason, we're kept far, far away from most of the other specs, though word on the street has it that said handset will boast a three megapixel camera and a patently stunning 840 x 480 display. Explain to us again why Asia always gets the upgraded kit?

They need to release this as a GSM with Android on it or something - the software on the Krave ZN4 with the Verizon bloat is awful and cripples the thing. My little Ming runs better than that thing.

I was gonna say that lately my answer to the question "why Asia always gets the upgraded kit" (or more generally, "why does the rest of the world have better phones?") has been "Verizon".

Asian phones have to compete on their own level that's why. The Americas/Europe may be just a lower-expectations market subject to bean-counter cropping.

I have your answer:

Pretty much everybody in America wants a free phone.

The kicker is, people in America don't realize that the cheaper a phone is, the less "goodies" you get with it. Upgraded specs come with upgraded costs, and Americans are just too damn cheap to pay for the diferences.
